I booked a spa day for when I was 33 weeks pregnant, it was going to be my last day of freedom before dd2 was born. Long story short, I gave birth on the day I was supposed to be being pampered. The stupid spa won't refund me and have offered either spa day or restaurant vouchers Which I can't use as dd2 is ebf and so I can't leave her. Or they've offered the value in elemis products. Given I cant use the spa day or restaurant I'm going to have to get £115 worth of elemis. I've never used it- what would be good? I have dry skin and no time !

That’s frustrating!! Their sos cream is amazing though, great for dry skin that’s needs a pick me up. Congratulations on your new baby.

Thanks. Feel resentful towards them and almost want to hate the products however the sos cream does look nice. Any more suggestions- about 80 quid left to spend!!

That is very annoying of them. It’s not like you forgot the appointment- you went into labour! Could they not let you use the voucher in 6 months or something when you baby can have bigger gaps in feeds?
Personally I don’t like much of their products. I’m very into smells and a lot of their stuff smells a bit too “fresh” for me. Currently trying to get through a shower gel of theirs that smells like toothpaste. I presume they do better stuff I just seem to be given the “invigorating” toothpaste smelling stuff (I sound very ungrateful I know)

Kitten they've been incredibly unhelpful. However your post is encouraging as I like fresh smells- specially minty ones

I have just had an Elemis deep tissue massage today and it was bliss! Shame you’ve missed out but congrats on your snuggle newborn.

DH also bought me a travel set for Xmas a couple of years ago and IIRC the Marine collagen cream was lovely but too expensive for me to use on a regular basis. If I had to splash I’d go for that.

Congratulations on your baby. It's not the fault of the spa though, they shouldn't be out of pocket.

I'd go for marine cream and the marine cream mask. Stick the mask on overnight, it's wonderful.

If you have dry skin Marine Cream won't be any.good as it's a very light almost lotion texture.I used it for a while but it is no good for dry skin. I.had to.give it up (love the smell) for something more moisturising.

You're right bom it's not their fault I went into premature labour. You'd think they might treat it as very exceptional circumstances however and be kind. Anyway that's not the point.

I need quick slap it on type stuff. Anything I need to leave in, buff or layer up isn't really possible at the min!

The cleansing oil and cleansing balm are both really excellent. I prefer the oil for ease of dispensing, but both are wonderful if you like hot cloth cleansing.

I love the bath and shower elixirs. They last for AGES (I’ve a bottle I got in June and it’s not even half done). They smell beautiful and make a bath a real treat.

I really love the Skin Nourishing milk bath. Very good for soothing dry skin. You’d need a bit of time to have a soak in it though. Maybe get it and keep it for in a few months time?

Also the Frangipani Monoi oil. (For on your body not face). Can’t get enough of the scent. Hard to describe the smell of that one though. If you can have a sniff of it first that’s be best. Not sure how compatible with a new baby it would be though. So maybe not...

Oh the Papaya enzyme peel mask is really good. Very soothing and gets a bit of glow into the cheeks. It’s a slap on and rinse off after 10 mins product that gives good results.

Pro collagen cleanser

Sharp shower is the mint shower. Is ace. And at least £20. The body cream is nice as is the cleanser

I have a vaguely similar story. My boss bought me a spa voucher valid for a year and given the fact I'm a single Mum I'm either working or hanging out with a pair of infant school age children. Wind the clock forward 11 months with no opportunity to go so I got elemis marine cream moisturiser. £85 normally?! That doesn't compute with me, I'm a £5 max spend on moisturiser. Does my skin look any better 2 months on? No! I realise that last bit doesn't help you but I feel your non spa frustration. Congratulations on new baby though, better than a massage!

The Pro Radiance Flash Balm is good. It can be used as a primer, moisturiser, mask or general face perk me up.
I use it as one of my Summer moisturisers.
