As we’re talking about Christmas outfits..

My plan is a black tux style jacket with a camisole/plain top and a short black sequin skirt with opaque tights and black pistol style ankle boots. Or alternatively the same outfit but with fake leather trews.

I don’t have the tux jacket yet so I wanted opinions before I start going on a hunt for one!

I’m my head this looks good. But I never go out and really don’t have a clue what people wear and if I will actually just look a bit try hard.

Sounds fabulous. I just bought a Lagerfeld tux on Ebay (I've no idea how old it is but it's very 80's in shape and style) and am tempted to copy your outfit idea for Christmas Day.

I am too booby (and fat) for a tux jacket but that was the last Christmas do outfit i wore before getting pregnant with ds1 (who is nearly 19 )

and either red lipstick and simple make up or smokey eyes and a nude type lipstick. Not sure which..

Zara have a tux jacket. They also have lovely tux trousers with a satin stripe down the side.

Ooh off to check it out now. I’m actually going to the real life shops tomorrow (a rare outing!) so might be able to get to try it on first! Thanks for the tip!

Mulberry that tux jacket and trousers are gorgeous.... and now I want the trousers too but I don’t really go anywhere to justify buying the full on tux..
