Are these frumpy? Looking for really warm boots for an upcoming trip to Scandinavia.
Any other thoughts/suggestions welcome. Have to be black.

I would go for ones with a better sole to be honest! Dr Martens have some lined ones with proper soles. I will go off and look for the link!

They'd get wet if it rains/alerts/snows (which it is) surely being suede?
How about Merrell tremblant...I want some for Christmas. They're light and warm and comfy.

Have you looked at Ugg? They do a range of weather proof boots. I got a couple of pairs of their biker style ones and they were lovely and warm. I’d also recommend Sorel for proper snow boots and if you’re lucky you might be able to find a bargain on Amazon.

I have Columbia omni heat ones and they are rated by the sort of people who climb in snowy places for fun for being both warm and waterproof.

They are lightweight, extremely toasty and not too bulky.

I have Sorel boots. Warm, waterproof & wonderful! Various styles to choose from, online.
