Have a very plain black evening dress for an event in a few weeks. Wearing gold shoes and gold bag but the dress is so plain I need 'something'. I think a longish gold pendant would look nice but would like some suggestions please!

This is the dress. www.houseoffraser.co.uk/women/phase-eight-leila-one-shoulder-dress/d705934.pd#242144224,q=leila-one-shoulder

I'm shamelessly bumping to ask if anyone thinks this necklace would look ok with this dress? Have a thick gold cuff too and small diamond stud earrings.

I personally don’t think a necklace (of any style) would look good with that dress - the stand out feature is the asymmetric neckline and a necklace will detract from that. Less is more.

I think a gold cuff will look great though.

I did wonder about that Summer, I just didn't know if it was too plain? I do want it to be fairly understated but the group of women I will be with are the most glamorous bunch and I am definitely not! Do you think a gold cuff and small stud earrings would look ok?

I also have short hair so not the long flowing tresses of the model in the picture! Grin

No necklace!

I would wear long earrings with it, not studs. And maybe the cuff, yes.

Agreed, a necklace will fight with the neckline. Gorgeous earrings and a cuff and you’re sorted.

Laura Ashley have a sale on. What about this? www.lauraashley.com/uk/jewellery/long-double-tassel-rope-necklace/invt/jwa413

Yes yes to longer earrings. No necklace & gold cuff. 👌

Nice necklace weasel Smile

I'm thinking you're right about just the earrings, so any suggestions? Something bold? (But not heavy).

cos can be good for inexpensive, interesting jewellery.

quite like these from JL too

Love those Cos ones!

That dress is to die for op! 😍

How about a choker? It wont fight with the neckline at all.

I find that Daisy chakra jewellery is very bold in terms of design. And then the Chakra symbols are very different. But then I would go for chakras given my nickname.

Namaste!

Long sparkly earrings! Necklace not needed in my view.
