What are the best opaque black tights?

I'm looking for some new black tights!

I used to love the M&S fleece lined ones because they were really nice and thick but they don't seem to do those anymore.

They don't have to be fleece lined though being properly opaque is a must!

Also I hate saggy tights! (Am 5.8/size 10)

If you've got the perfect pair, please share your secret!

Primark is your friend here!

They do properly opaque 200 denier black tights (that don't sag - I too am a hater of the saggy tight) and also have the fleece lined ones.

Thank you star!

I like the M&S velvet touch ones.

GlitterFart · 03/11/2017 14:29

The Tesco signature luxury 140 denier opaque tights are a must for me, I used to get m&s velvet
touch but tesco are thicker and cheaper

Whatthefoxgoingon · 03/11/2017 14:41

I love the toasty merino ones from falke. Allows me to wear more dresses in deep winter.

HappyGowerGirl · 03/11/2017 17:14

Thanks all! The M&S velvety ones are slightly too "see through" for my liking. I've just seen that H&M do some nice thick fleecy ones though!

I just bought the m&s velvet touch ones they’re pretty good

SingingGoldfinch · 03/11/2017 17:21

M&S velvet touch 100denier - they're my faves. I think I saw 200denier ones when I was in there the other day too.

Lucked · 04/11/2017 10:47

I agree autograph velvet touch, I am tall and had some tights disasters but theses are really comfortable. this thread has reminded me to go and clear out all the other tights so I don't old ones on by accident.

Mulberrysilk · 04/11/2017 10:50

Primark.
Way better than more expensive tights.

Heratnumber7 · 04/11/2017 10:56

I buy mine from Sainsbury’s. .

Pattyandbump · 04/11/2017 11:00

The Primark tights are by far the best I've ever bought.

Crispsheets · 04/11/2017 11:01

I love Wolford. They last years

Botanicbaby · 04/11/2017 11:26

Hate Sainsbury's ones!

The best black opaque I've tried are Falke which can be bought at a cheaper price at TK Maxx. Would love some Wolfords though.

blodynmawr · 04/11/2017 11:28

this thread may help.

StigmaStyle · 04/11/2017 11:36

M&S thermal are great, but they only had a dark brown colour last time I looked.
Tesco thick black opaques are my budget favourites.

OliviaPopeRules · 04/11/2017 11:38

Wolford are great fit and last ages

Melfish · 04/11/2017 11:41

Falke are great but all the TK Maxx's I've been in don't have my size! Primark are also good- have a couple of pairs of their Super Soft opaques.

mrsnec · 04/11/2017 11:42

I'm not in the UK but I love Calzedonia. Everything I've had from there has been great tights for dd and I are warm and have never snagged. They always have unusual designs too. I think they have a few branches in the UK now.

eloisesparkle · 04/11/2017 20:40

Jasper Conran at Debenhams do opaque tights. My favourite opaques.
I love the feel of them. I think they may be 60 denier. I got them last year.
M&S Silky Soft are lovely too.

CharlieBoo · 04/11/2017 21:33

Another vote for primark

northernsoulgirl · 04/11/2017 21:36

Yes M&S Silky Soft, feel exactly how they sound

Ididnthearanything · 04/11/2017 21:42

Wolfe’s or Falke. I know they seem expensive but they last for so long that cost per wear is in the negatives (if that were possible).
I love wolford velvet 66 (some name like that). I don’t like too opaque. In fact I find I’m gazing fondly at those sheer black tights of old. Rather scary. Velvet 66 are a nice in-between, opaque but not too opaque. I have a pair since approx 1964 and they’re still in fab nick.
