but...the tops are so wide and high skinnies won't go over them, and look stupid tucked in due to the tallness of them.

I can't remember the last time I tucked jeans into boots.

Not sure which colour you're going for, but I'd avoid the 'brown snuff'.

I had a pair of Clarks shoes in that finish; it's kind of 'raw' if that makes sense and they marked and scuffed to glory more or less immediately and were impossible to clean/restore, not helped by Clarks shops not knowing which of their cleaning products was appropriate.
