I need some ankle boots... not keen on chelsea style as I have one pair already. I'm mid thirties. These look comfy but are they old looking?

I think they look more like children’s boots if I’m honest.

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 01/11/2017 13:54

That could work for me as I'm 5 ft 1 and size 8... I like wearing cord skirts and pinafores! Grin

Dear god yes !! Step away ! 🙈🙈

BadTasteFlump · 01/11/2017 13:56

Hmm I'm not keen, they definitely have a bit of the elderly look about them - sorry!

Do you like Biker Boots? I live in mine. I have the traditional black leather style and also some brown ones that give them a bit of a 'softer' look.

NotNowBernard1 · 01/11/2017 13:56

Oh Wtf do you mean by "old lady boots"?

fairylightseverywhere · 01/11/2017 13:57

Yes, I'm afraid so.

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 01/11/2017 13:57

I don't know really. Do they look unfashionable is what I'm asking... not that I follow fashion religiously!

Um I think she means 'boots that an elderly woman would wear'...

Floisme · 01/11/2017 13:59

It usually means hideous but good enough for old people.

AnnabelleLecter · 01/11/2017 14:00

I think they're really odd looking. Nay from me.

BadTasteFlump · 01/11/2017 14:00

Floisme I don't take it that way - I imagine something very sturdy, comfortable and easy to walk in, so probably comfort over style. Having said that, I imagine most elderly people would find my biker boots very comfortable Smile

Fairylea · 01/11/2017 14:02

Oh my gosh sorry but those are hideous BlushGrin

Go for a plain Chelsea ankle boot if you want something low and ankle height. Loads of them on Next, Clark’s, New look and asos.

It’s the Velcro and the flower thing that really doesn’t help.

hungryradish · 01/11/2017 14:09

Unfortunately I will have to agree with other posters. There are much nicer boots about!

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 01/11/2017 14:13

Thanks for your honesty Smile

They do have a rather orthopedic look about them. Clarks have loads of decent ankle boots if comfort is your main priority.

Fragglewump · 01/11/2017 14:16

Depends if you are 75 and calling 98 year olds elderly. They aren’t very cool.

blueskyinmarch · 01/11/2017 14:17

Blimey I am 55 and think they are hideous. My 77 year old DM would like them.

allmycats · 01/11/2017 15:35

My granny died over 20 years ago at the age of 90 and she would have said they were too old for her. !!!!!

Fragglewump · 01/11/2017 15:46

Just been discussing this with teen daughter and she said a very hippy friend of ours would wear them. I’m shocked you are mid thirties........which shop are they from.....I have seen similar in Germany......

usernamerequired67 · 01/11/2017 16:06

My mum has a pair ......,.. she’s 83 Grin

CakeNinja · 01/11/2017 16:34

Is that a starfish on the side?!
Sorry, it's a no from me Grin

Candlelight234 · 01/11/2017 17:22

I'm sure my mid 70's mother would reject those for being 'for old people'

Ginkypig · 01/11/2017 17:30

Yep I'm sorry to tell you.

I am not a follower of fashion either but they would be a step too close for me..

Ginkypig · 01/11/2017 17:31

Saying that though I'd never judge anyone else's choice of clothes so if you like them then bloody well wear them!
