Leopard print coat mid 40's - a bit Bet Lynch?

I've been toying with the idea of buying a leopard print coat.

I don't live in a big place so have wild ideas on what to wear but end up being more conservative for fear of what others think! Really stupid, I know, but I'm a bit shy.

Anyway, what do you think of leopard coats or jackets? Will it look a bit Bet Lynch or Liz McDonald? If I wear my usual boots and skinny jeans would it look ok?

Thank you Halloween Smile

The frenzy is over, nice KM woman couldn't sort it out. So the Biba one is on its way, actually I think I like it more. It's tarty rather than sophisticated so suits me Grin

OP thank you for starting this thread Flowers

I tried the M&S one in grey, and found the 12 fitted well, but it was certainly too tight in the lepoard, plus as Bubbles said, the double breasted front added more bulk - AND I found the press studs impossible to do up because I just outdated get them lined up without pulling the coat squint. The Sosander has been hanging on my door for a week - apart from being on the edge of roomy it's lovely - single breasted, buttons, slit pockets. The Betty Barclay one I posted above has joined it, but the sosander def has the edge.

Rebecca sorry it's too late for an opinion but, for what it's worth, I'd have said Biba - I think it looks bloody lovely.

cherries it sounds like the Sosander is the one that's calling you! I rather like an oversized coat so I don't see being roomy as a problem.

Thanks floisme - me too! I think it was karma that the KM one fell through just so I could find it ...

although having said that if ilovecherries had sent that Sosander one back I'd have had it in a jiffy Grin

I have one!

It’s a boyfriend style from Primark. I’ve had loads of compliments about it!

Wore it to work a few weeks back with a black polo, pink leather skirt, opaques and ankle boots. My office loved it Smile

Loving seeing all these coats. I'd have said biba too, Rebecca, I saw it IRL last week and thought it was gorgeous, just too big a step for me for a leopard virgin. Lucky, you look great!

I was out today (in a parka not my leopard) , the leopard print is The Thing at the moment, I was seeing leopard everywhere probably because I'm looking Grin.

I was looking for a new , long, plain, slim fit black jumper to wear under it..................couldn't find one ........

Wore my leopard boots with a red coat yesterday morning. DH called me Kat Slater, needless to say I was back to a black coat by yesterday afternoon Grin

Ooh martin I was toying with the idea of getting some red boots to go with black skinnies, a white top and my leopard print coat! What do you think?

Sounds lovely! Imho I think you have great style (based on your earlier photo). You seem like one of those people who can trust their gut whereas I make lots of mistakes before finding that perfect (for me) outfit.

I wore a leopard print coat as a student. I threw it out aged about 25 in a fit of grown-up-ness and have regretted it ever since. I might need one now. Am 48 so prime Bet, but don’t care.

My Ebay £22 splurge. I have been getting compliments at work on it. The fabric is velvet, which is great, more stream lined than fur, and very tactile. I like the detail with the velvet edging, too

Martin - I lost my way a bit after having DS. For the first time ever I wore jeans more than anything else. Then a friend —frenemy— kept slating me for following trends. So I was confused about me and my style for a while.

Pre DS I was very trendy and liked to look up to date! So sod my frenemy, I’m going to follow the trends!!

It was this pic that has inspired me to look at red boots!

I'm a little giddy with excitement at the moment - got a huge thumbs up from DD, and slight grunt of encouragement from DP (although he used to have a crush on Kat Slater so possibly feels I'm not rocking it quite as well as she used to!).
