Find me a cheap expensive looking outfit

Ok so I never never go out. I’m a total home bird. I am also tee total. I like staying in. In my last job (office) I just never went to the nights out. They all knew I wouldn’t. However started new job and this time I feel I should go (teaching). I like the people I work with and it’s a meal and dancing. However I have no idea how to dress.
I’m crap at heels but I have lovely irregular choice black ones I can walk in. Just black sequins. I’m a size 12-14. 30ff boobs and I’m not young. I’m 43. I’m short as well. 5”3.
And just to add insult to injury I don’t want to spend much at all. So as cheap as possible but looking expensive obviously. Red is out as I am a strawberry blonde. I have no real style as such but I love dresses and vintage style clothes. I buy a lot of ebay.
Just can’t decide on any thing. Worried about being mutton dressed as lamb next to these young skinny child less teachers.

I’m not too keen to wear sleeveless if I’m honest. Plus hard to get jeans or trousers the right leg length. I’m more comfy in a dress. I have no style lol

I was in Zara at the weekend and tried this on - it was lovely, and hung well because the trim weighed it down. I'm the same height as you, and it came to just at the top of my knee.
It would look great with black opaques if you didn't feel confident with bare legs - I'm not long back from holiday so still have a bit of tan going on!

Thanks guys. Forgot to check back but I have ordered an almost identical dress to the new look one in green
