Which ankle boots?

Sorry about yet another thread about ankle boots

I've worked out what I'm looking for now - I like the heel to be the same as the boot, and I want a close fitting on the ankle so I can wear them with skirts and tights.

I've found these two options:

And what colour would you go for? I mainly wear black tights so black would be the most versatile option but maybe a bit boring?

I don't think they do need to be close fitting to wear with skirts. I have a mint velvet pair from last winter that is more of a biker look which I wear with skirts and dresses. I think it depends what look you need. I prefer a shoe boot for the professional look, lk bennet had some nice ones last time I looked.

How about the Orla Kiely "Audrey" shoe boots? I can't link on this phone. There are lots brand new on Ebay for £50. They are a discontinued style so are not available in the shops.

This isn’t particularly helpful I know but I think those two are very overpriced for what you get... very similar styles on New Look (they now do leather and suede “premium” ranges which are more luxurious than their normal range), Next and Asos. I wouldn’t pay more than £30 for that style etc - then I’d spend the rest on more clothes

I agree that they don’t need to be slim fitting at the ankle to wear with skirts. Lots of the styles worn at the moment have a gap around the ankle and block heels. I guess it depends on your style.

Daniel shoes are amazing quality and comfort, much better than anything Boden or New Look

I’ll have a nose. I have never, ever heard of Daniels shoes.

Thanks, I don’t have an office job so don’t need to look smart. But I like to look put together if that makes sense.

I have very slim calves and ankles so if boots aren’t slim fitting they look a bit odd on me.

I have a very similar pair which I bought 2 years ago at good old Sainsbos. They cost around £30 with the 25% off thing. They are leather and I have worn them so much, yet they still look as good as new.

I totally agree with fairylea I thought exactly the same thing when I saw both pairs.
