Swimmers - how do you look after your nails?

I've joined a new gym which has a lovely swimming pool and intend to use the pool a few times a week. However, after only a few sessions my nails are in a terrible state.

Is there a product that I don't know about that can protect my nails when I'm swimming? I don't want to give up the swimming as I want to be more active.

I eat a cube of jelly 3 times a week! I know that sounds crackers. I swim about 4 times a week.

I swim 3 or 4 Times S week and my nails deteriorated when I started this regime. I now rub a layer of Vaseline onto my hands and nails before I get in the water, I wear a cap for my hair and I take hair and nails vitamin supplements. They have improved from this time last year. And yes to jelly, I get cravings for jelly babies, and I eat a bag of them a month!

I swim four times a week and have shellac fortnightly. Never had problems with my nails
