I'm a bit slow to really catch on to YT beyond amusing cat clips but have got quite into watching a couple over the past few days.

I wondered if anyone has any style and beauty recommendations?

Any topic - styling, hair, beauty, make up tutorials...

My faves so far have been:

Classic Make Up Mistakes: Presenter is a tiny bit annoying IMO but she does her face half with products used the wrong way, and half used the right way and the difference (even using the exact same products) is amazing! Some of the tips are basic but some are really worthwhile...

Justine LeConte: French fashion stylist. Really good IMO for anyone new to styling with really easy to follow videos on what suits your face shape (hairstyles, earrings, sunglasses), what colours suit your skin undertones and French chic. I haven't watched the rest of hers yet but so far, so good.

Lisa Eldridge for make up and beauty stuff.

I like Tati too, but she is American, so not all products are available in the UK.

Brickshed7 · 25/10/2017 17:00

I really enjoy watching Trinny Woodall. She is mad as but really informative. She gives good honest reviews on products.
She's also just launched her own make up range which I am about to place an order for. It's supposed to be really easy and foolproof (which will suit me).
I also really like a model recommends.

NotQuitePerfect · 25/10/2017 17:18

Another one for A Model Recommends.

Also Caroline Hirons.

eyebrowseyebrows · 25/10/2017 17:45

I'll take a look at these...I've heard of Caroline Hirons a lot on here but haven't ever looked her up....going to have a little YT binge

Tati is good. I'm not into make up but I like her videos.

DancingHouse · 25/10/2017 17:59

Helen Anderson has great confidence and I love her style. I watch more of her daily blogs rather than her tutorials tho. Megan Ellby is easy to watch too.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 25/10/2017 18:04

Who's that Lancashire woman? Largish, dark hair, swears like a trouper? She makes me cackle. Trying those self supporting bras. 😂 She does know her stuff though.

aniceearlynight · 25/10/2017 18:35

I like The Anna Edit (good on casual dressing, capsule wardrobe, make-up and travel) and Nadine Baggott for beauty. Trinny good value but a little goes a long way!

Thanks OP. I enjoyed the makeup mistakes video! I quite like her eye rolling, haughty attitude Grin

MadisonMontgomery · 25/10/2017 20:58

I actually love DramaticMac - her makeup looks are a bit heavier than I usually wear, but I love the Irish accent and that she is self taught - gives me hope that I might get half decent one day! Plus she does a lot of affordable makeup videos, not just high end stuff.

stoplickingthetelly · 25/10/2017 21:01

I mostly watch make up/beauty stuff. Like lisa eldridge, a model recommends, hannah martin, Wayne goss and pixiwoo.

PNGirl · 26/10/2017 07:54

I like Lizzy Hadfield (shotfromthestreet) and her Testing Basics series.

healthyheart · 26/10/2017 07:55

Beauty and the Boutique

Fabellini · 26/10/2017 07:59

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow I think you're thinking of Antonella The Uncensored Reviewer!

Fabellini · 26/10/2017 08:02

As an alternative, I really like Kimberley Clark - a drag queen from the US. They've done a series of videos called "anti hauls" where they talk about what they're not going to buy and why not....comparisons between other products on the market, stuff that just doesn't work, etc.
Very informative, intelligently delivered, and funny!

lubeybooby · 26/10/2017 08:03

Lisa Eldridge is very skilled and great results but too boring and miserable to watch regularly. I like Nikkia Joy, Jefree Starr and HotandFlashy

Nikkia is a great all-rounder. Lots of testing and tutorials with honest reviews. Lighthearted and fun.

Jefree is funny and very good at in-depth testing and honest reviews

HotandFlashy for in-depth skincare testing and good foundations for mature skin. She's a fair bit older than me but I like to see what I need to be looking at as my skin ages and what I need to be putting into my routine. She's great at long term testing too (eg dermarollers)

MinkowskisButterfly · 26/10/2017 08:55

I really like Miss Budget Beauty (although not all her stuff is budget!), she also has a blog which I enjoy Mikhala. Com

EdgarAllanPO · 26/10/2017 09:03

I've discovered guru gossip so I don't see youtubers in the same light anymore.
I still have a nosey at Ruth Crilly from time to time and I love Trinny especially her trips around zara.
My dc watch graveyard girl and a newish youtuber called Misha Grimes her mum is very silly in a funny way.
Lisa Eldrige is spot on with her skincare advice.

retainertrainer · 26/10/2017 09:29

I like Lisa Eldridge and miss budget beauty.

I used to like the Anna Edit but it's like the emperors new clothes. Everyone fawning over the same brown smudgy eyeshadow, slightly curled hair and these endless 'capsule wardrobe' videos which are basically black jeans and a long grey coat with the off red handbag thrown in.

retainertrainer · 26/10/2017 09:29

*odd

Lanaa · 26/10/2017 09:41

Justine Leconte really knows her stuff and has helped me transform my look for the better. Also Aly Art she’s a genius and her makeup tips are invaluable. She also refrains from any ridiculous Instagram style makeup and clickbaity titles. Simple Annalisa is fabulous too.

Countduckulanose · 26/10/2017 13:20

Jeffree star 😍

eyebrowseyebrows · 26/10/2017 13:47

Lots of YT subscriptions going on, thanks all!

I have also searched extensively for a UK Plus Size YouTuber who has a more classic/structured/higher end of the High St look to no avail.

It's all US based or BooHoo hauls Sad

Yes to The AnnaEdit. I don't like to give cash via views to anyone managed by Gleam Futures with their magically appearing book deals and fake friendships with each other. They're the ones responsible for Zoella, Tanya Burr, The Saccone-Jolys et al.
