Grey hair

So at what age is it ok to just let the grey (or in my case white) just do its own thing 🤔

I have had to dye my hair since I was about 21 - my hair is now very thin and coming out in handfuls due to polycystic ovaries so I am loathe to do anything to it that may aggravate hair loss 😳

go for it, white hairs looks lovely imo, I wish mine was white

Problem is for now I am only 40 and so there is about 3/4 of my hair that will probably still be dark brown 🙄

I'm 38 and cut all dye from hair about 3 year ago... got grey slab at front and greys coming tjrough.... love it, wish I'd done it a lot earlier

As soon as you want to. You are not obliged to dye your hair.

vilamoura2003 · 22/10/2017 17:37

Do you have a pick - I think that is what mine will look like 😊

Mine is grey now - took ages as I didn’t chop it. I’m 44 and I love it. Cannot imagine going back. Not putting a pic up , far too identifying!

I am mostly grey now at 32 and I've let it all grow out. It only took about 8-9 months but I have a shortish pixie. I love my grey colour now, I can get some great silverish tones with some purple shampoos.

Tiddlywinks63 · 22/10/2017 17:51

Mine's pure silver and has been since I was 40. I started going grey when I was 18 and coloured it for years until it became too onerous.
I love having silver hair!

I'm 56 and still can't bear to stop colouring my hair. I'm not sure I would suit grey to be honest. I used to have dark auburn hair but have gone a little lighter so it's less severe. I do have it coloured professionally every 5 weeks but it costs me a fortune. Knowing my luck I won't have that lovely white or grey hair that everyone else seems to have. I will probably look like a witch 😀

Floralnomad · 22/10/2017 18:00

I'm 51 and blonde , I've never coloured my hair which has been greying for a couple of years , it blends very well with what blonde is left and im very happy with it .

Wow - loving the support for letting it do its own thing. I think it would be better if I had a style, at present it is just long and lank. I think if I left it to do its own thing, I would end up with white streaks down the sides like Morticia in the Adams Family 😆

I’m 32 and I intentionally dye my hair ash grey. It looks fucking wicked, even if I say so myself Grin. Go for it - it’s such a cool look.
