What dresses suit pear shapes?

Every style of dress I try looks naff on me, I think.
I'm 5'5, about 69kg, small boobs and a bit of weight to lose around my middle. My bum and thighs aren't massive but not slim.
Dresses that cinch in the middle like Kirstie Allsop wears don't suit as they are unflattering on top.
Knitted dresses and short dresses look ok on top but make my bottom half look big, especially if they end above knee.
Boden /FatFace etc jersey dresses look forward on me.
Is there another alternative?

Boatneck and wrap dresses are good. I’m very bottom heavy, so wear smock dresses which help with the never going away baby bulge

Fit and flare dresses or skater dresses (though not the ridiculously short skater dresses) look the best on me, and I'm a 5ft 5 pear. Personally I find wrap dresses make me look even flatter chested than I actually am!

Here's one purely to give you an idea of the shape I'm on about:

It's a pretty dress Tonic but would make me look fat around the shoulders and knees. Losing 5kg might help me I guess!

Mumof, it's a nice dress. Quite formal though. What do you wear for everyday?

How about a mini length A-line dungaree dress in denim or cord with a long sleeved top and thick tights underneath?

Rathkelter · 22/10/2017 13:10

I could try that Bartle. Thanks

Daily I wear smock or jersey dresses, for me the length is key. From trial and error I’ve realised that my size and shape need dress just above the knees. Just below and looks grumpy.

Safe brands for me are Boden, joules and M&S.

This is from Khaadi, size 16 though I’m a 14. Apparently looks very good, it is shorter just below the knees
