Feel out of touch

It's been so long since I had a night out with friends, I feel so out of touch and am slightly panicking about what to wear tonight.

Night out with the girls from uni, meal & drinks, we're all 40 but I'm the only one with kids. We all work in a creative profession so they are a stylish bunch. I however am feeling frumpy from having 2 kids & a disability making me permanently tired and a little more out of shape than I'd like to be especially since having the toddler.

I was thinking skinny jeans, boots , grey silk top & some nice statement silver jewellery - does that sound ok. They aren't really jeans kind of people but I can't think of anything else that works & fits well without getting too dressy.

That sounds perfect to me. Better to be slightly underdressed (formality-wise) than overdressed!
Have a lovely evening!

Ankle boots would look great. Jeans with a good top will look perfect.

For the future, I also like casual dresses and ankle boots worn with opaque tights. I have a slimish friend who wears jumper dresses with long boots and a scarf. Always looks effortless and stylish.

Your friends won't judge you. Be comfortable and happy to be in their company. They won't ask for more!
