What shall I fly in this weekend?

I'll be leaving for the airport tomorrow in the midst of Storm Brian, and arriving in Porches in 28 degree heat apparently.
I'm rubbish at travel dressing as it is! Shall I just freeze at the airport in shorts, wear layers (no idea how to do this and not look like Mr Tumble), boil on the other side until I get to the hotel...? Help!

Where’s Porches?? How long is your flight?

LittleMachine · 21/10/2017 15:33

It's in Portugal, I think about 3 hours.

I normally dress for my destination. It wasn’t so good when we changed planes at Charles de Gaulle at 7 am in January in flip flops and ended up doing three bus journeys.

How are you getting to the airport? If someone is dropping you off can they take a coat back for you?

You also need to think about what you will wear when you get back. I’ve been met at the airport with coats.

I live in foreign parts, where I never wear a coat going to the UK for Christmas takes planning for clothes.

I'm leaving my car at the airport so actually I could leave our coats in the boot 🙂

If you're driving to the airport the storm is immaterial. I'd go vest, floaty cardigan, skinnies and trainers. I flew to Prague in Ophelia last week and wore t shirt, leather jacket, jeans and Nikes.

I normally pack something to change into at the airport when landing so wear tshirt, cardy, jeans then off the plane, get cases open up have shorts and flip flops top of the case or carry the flip flops in bag to wear on the plane. Lucky you, have a fab time! The plane can be chilly sometimes so handy to have something to slip on.

My favourite flying outfit is harem pants, vest, denim jacket and converse. I take a huge oversize scarf this time of year for warmth.

I'd wear a tshirt dress over some floaty trousers, half tucked in at the front with a lightweight cardigan. whip off the trousers and cardigan in the airport at the other end, tie the cardigan around my bag handles and put my sunglasses on. May not be stylish but I'd rather be comfortable than a hot sweaty mess.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to look for something now I've finished packing!
