Suggestions for the fashion challenged

It's nearly my birthday and I would like to get some new tops but I really don't know what to get. I'm 32, 5'3, size 8, big boobs, not the best tummy. I struggle with smart casual. Things to wear going out for a meal because that's about as exciting as I get. I find I either have sweaters or Bretons so never have anything nicer to wear.

No suggestions for tops as I struggle too, but in general I find dresses easier for smartening up. You don’t have to wear heels with a dress; you can rock boots or flats.

Have you got good arms? Determines ideal sleeve length of tops!

I don't think you can go wrong with a black blouse or shirt. I often wear one with black skinnies and boots. These are just suggestions for shapes rather than the actual garments necessarily:

The choker and flared sleeve trend seems to be going strong! I always find H&M has lots of good tips for evening wear and at a good price but I am also chesty so I don’t let the label size bother me (H&M don’t seem to know boobs exist?!). River Island also are good as have same shape in a few colours so if you find something you like you can buy a few!

Thanks. I think my arms are fine but I like to be warm so would maybe prefer long sleeves

Blouses / shirts. Try H&M, New Look, DP if you’re ok with polyester but if you can stretch to places like Hush, & Other Stories or Oliver Bonas then they have some lovely long sleeve shirts in at the moment. Warehouse is also nice but can be a bit floral.
