I would definitely wear the dress for work, but personally not with the cropped jacket. I think that's a bit weddingy (even though the colour of the dress/jacket isn't!). The Hobbs jacket is lovely though.

If you buy a brown jacket from a different make it won't be the same colour. You either need to properly match it or go for something very different. I'd buy a black jacket or cardi instead.

I think it depends on how formal your job/office is ..... my job involves some super smart meetings and I'd wear the dress jacket combo for that kind of the meeting, dress with a cardigan on other days ......

It is quite smart @shylo - I generally wear a jacket rather than cardi. So essentially at the moment I have a black jacket and skirt, pink jacket, black dress and some other dresses and match it up a bit. But I feel like I could do with another suit to add in to the equation and also for super smart days....
