DH decided to spend his boots points on something nice for me and chose a bar of Chanel coco mademoiselle soap.. for £19..

What can I do with it? I mean obviously wash but how do I keep it nice? It smells epic mind you! I think he tried to buy the perfume but didn’t have enough points

Use it every morning as a daily treat.

Puppymouse · 13/10/2017 21:19

Watching! I got sucked into the thread about soap instead of shower gel and just bought the soap that matches my Chanel perfume. I have just let it sit on the shelf in my shower so far!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 13/10/2017 21:20

You need a nice soap dish with holes at the bottom.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/10/2017 21:22

You need to come over to the soap thread and tell us all about it Grin

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 13/10/2017 21:24

Splash out a fiver for a soap dish, keep it in the shower and use it every morning.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 13/10/2017 21:29

I’m now looking thoughtfully at my Boots card, because I haven’t had a soap version of my preferred perfume for literally decades, but I’m quite tempted. Unfortunately I’m very sensible with my points and tend to spend them on toothpaste or tights or other stuff I was going to buy anyway whenever I have enough, so I don’t have anything like 19 quid in the pot.

AdaColeman · 13/10/2017 21:29

Save it, then put it out when your MIL visits so that she can use it.

Silvereyes · 13/10/2017 21:39

Use it, when it’s out of its packaging, it will make your bathroom smell lovely as it has such a strong scent.

You’ll smell fab too.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 13/10/2017 21:45

Unwrap it and put it in your underwear or linen drawer for a while before you decide to use it in the bathroom. If you harden it off for one to two months before use, it lasts longer, so I've read and it should fragrance the drawer in the meanwhile.

ginandtonicly · 13/10/2017 22:38

Ooh putting it in the drawer sounds good! It smells epic!

@CalmanOnSpeeddial I’ve just checked mine I’ve got £29 on my boots card! Might just keep it going until I can afford the perfume ❤️❤️

Came on to mention the formidable soap thread but someone got there already!

chocolatespiders · 14/10/2017 09:29

Use it and cover your body in the lovely scent. I do think I would struggle to use an expensive soap. I am a four bars for a pound type of girl Smile

Or take it back and pay the difference for the perfume you want.

SilverAndCold · 14/10/2017 10:33

ginandtonicly if you want a cheap perfume fix of Coco Mademoiselle, Lidl do a really good dupe called Suddenly Madame Glamour for £3.99. Is very very similar.

MorrisZapp · 14/10/2017 10:35

What the what now? Posh perfume houses make bar soap?

This changes everything.

GreyFluffball · 14/10/2017 10:37

Make sure you get a soap dish where the water can drain off the bar after use, and don't leave it under the shower to get slimy. Let it drain, keep it as dry as possible and it should last well! I use bar soap with a shower puff.

Vitalogy · 14/10/2017 10:47

I was going to suggest the underwear drawer too.
That was a nice thing for your husband to do.

ginandtonicly · 14/10/2017 13:27

@MorrisZapp I know right! Game changer!

ginandtonicly · 14/10/2017 13:31

@Vitalogy yes it really was such a lovely thing for him to do ❤️

I always have Chanel No 5 soap in one of my bathrooms , it's lovely .

silkpyjamasallday · 14/10/2017 15:15

This thread has made me start looking at fancy soaps, but I am disappointed as I wear the Chloe EDP so obviously looked for the soap version and they used to produce a soap bar of the same scent but I can't find it for sale or on eBay and all that comes up are articles about its release in 2009 Sad
