Clear lipliner - is it worth it?

I love bright lipsticks but I'm at that age now where I find they bleed into the fine lines around my mouth so I was thinking of investing in a clear lipliner.
Are they worth it & any recommendations please?

Never heard of it! Im going to look into it! Sounds like a dream!

Virgin cosmetics did one years ago. It was great. I'd forgotten about it until now.

Colourpop do a clear “bleed proof” lipliner and primer stick? They work a charm together. Colourpop is just the best though I love it Smile

Rimmel do one - its retractable about £4.
I think it's a good idea to try it especially if you have fine vertical lines

martellandginger · 12/10/2017 19:47

Yes worth it. Nice under a gloss too.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 12/10/2017 19:55

Fantastic stuff. I use it under my red lipstick and I swear it lasts better when I do Smile

I'm going to have to visit a Boots.

Otherwise use a lip primer

I use one from Stila

Housewife2010 · 12/10/2017 20:24

I've got an ancient Body Shop one.

YEEESSSS Urban Decay Ozone, totally worth it. I must have six of them, I try to keep one in my handbag, one in my makeup bag, one in my coat pocket etc.

I apply lipstick just short of the lip line first, then run the pencil around the edge of my lip, using it to spread the colour to the edge. It makes the edges nicely tidy and even without being either too sharp or too blurry, and it holds the colour without altering it or drying out my lips.

I'd avoid using it all over your lips, it can be drying and kind of deadens the texture of the lipstick. It does mean refreshing the colour now and again but once you have a nice tidy lip line it's easy to add a bit in the middle. I can do it without a mirror.

I also use a smidge of Ozone in the crease around my nose to keep my makeup from sliding off.

The MAC lip primer is excellent. It's one of their unsung heroes - I keep one in my handbag always.

Yes! Body Shop do a good one
