Recommendations for trousers

For a short (5ft), chubby (bigger than size 12, smaller than 14) woman.
Need to be smart
Need to be low-cost

I have an interview next week. It's for a do-at-home job, but there is a panel interview. I've been a SAHP for quite some years so I don't own any suits.

I'm not getting all dressed up when I'll be working from home anyway if I get the role, but I can't turn up in my jeans either.

When I say low cost, I mean £20 or less.

Try Matalan - they have a good range of black work trousers in lots of different styles. They are cheap too if you don't need to wear them again!

Thanks Butterfly, I'll try that on Saturday.

I did just find an ancient pair of Monsoon trousers hidden at the back of the wardrobe but they're tweed bootflare ones, so not sure whether they're too dated.

For £20 or less I'd try Matalan, New Look, and H&M. Good luck with your interview and I hope you find something you feel comfy in. I recently bought myself some plain black trousers from Matalan for work which I think were about £16 and they're nice enough and very comfy.

Some of m&s trousers are under £25 - they have leg lengths like Short.

Next are absolutely brilliant for work trousers, but might be slightly above your budget.

Have you looked in charity shops? Tailored trousers are often in good supply. I have a fantastic pair of black Zara cropped trousers, and a wide-leg New Look pair, both from the chazza.

Thanks everyone. I can check out charity shops this weekend, they often have good quality things.
