Fringe- yay or nay?

I've got a haircut booked for this afternoon. I don't go very often as I have been growing my hair out from a very short crop a couple years ago.. it's not in great condition to be frank. Colour is ok though. But I kind of have a yearning for a fringe. But I have no idea whether it would look ok as I wear specs and also by the time I have hair trimmed it will be kind of jaw length I think. It's collar length now. Hair is highlighted and slightly wavy. I suit messy hair best. But I am a bit on the fat side around my neck I kind of resent paying to have a trim you see and feel like il get more for my money if I have a fringe cut in Grin which is a stupid reason right? I know.
Something like the attached photos?

You're a total babe. Go for the fringe. I got one 3 years ago and I love it. Makes me look younger (hides wrinkles), am so pleased I went for it. Beforehand I never owned a hairdryer, so I got one and a small pair of hair straighteners that I just do my fringe with.

pickledparsnip · 09/10/2017 13:28

They do need regular upkeep. I used to go to the hairdressers about once a year max, and now get my fringe trimmed regularly. I do sometimes attempt it myself (usually looks a bit shit). Also if you can't be faffed to wash your hair, you can just wash your fringe and ta-da it looks good!

I have a fringe, I don't suit not having one. But what you must take into account is they are fairly high maintenance. They seem to grow overnight and need regular trims, they need to be styled into place, if I don't blow dry mine I look like some demented professor. But thy do hide unruly eyebrows and as previous posters have said they do soften the face.

I say try a fringe, if you hate it you can always change it again (although I hear it's a ball ache growing them out). But I'm all for changes to hair styles .

I had my hair cut last week and had a fringe cut in, I was really sceptical, but now I love it, Don't get me wrong it is a bit of a faff to blow dry into place and can get greasy if you get sweaty or have oily skin (that's my skin)
I think if you want it, talk to the hairdresser, they give great advice on if it would suit and how long, how thick, what style etc.

You look great btw Smile

RealHousewifeOfLapland · 09/10/2017 13:32

You look lovely!! I think you would really suit a fringe too!

Snipples · 09/10/2017 13:56

Do it. Do it. I'm a fringe person

Sammysquiz · 09/10/2017 13:59

I think you would look fantastic whatever you do, but my vote is for no fringe!

buttwingsham · 09/10/2017 14:22

Love your hair. No to a fringe your hair has some wave in it so every time it rains your fringe will protest.

I recently got a heavy fringe cut in and my hair chopped from long to jaw length. I don't regret it at all, it has made a huge difference to my look and I've had loads of compliments. It's long enough that I can (just about) clip it back if I get too hot, but have just spent a week in the sun and it only got a bit too warm a couple of times. I had it cut in to my eyebrows so it doesn't need to be straightened if I don't feel like it.

bigbin · 09/10/2017 15:02

It’s cool. I like it.

Kenworthington · 09/10/2017 15:03

Love your style! I'd go for a fringe if I were you, your hair is quiet short so won't be horrific to grow it out Smile

Kenworthington · 09/10/2017 15:24

I've done it miss ^Smile

Looks great Smile I love your haircut too, that's pretty much what mine looks like Grin but I have dark brown hair.

WowserBowser · 09/10/2017 15:53

You look great!

ownedbySWD · 09/10/2017 15:55

Fringe + glasses would completely overpower your face, imo. You look great as-is!

Ohyesiam · 09/10/2017 16:06

Yay! You did it!
It's a good look, edgy and urban. You are really pretty.

Acornantics · 09/10/2017 17:07

Stunning! Wish I could rock a fringe like that but am waaay too curly. Would look like an ageing Shirley Temple.

Madeyemoodysmum · 09/10/2017 17:09

Love it.

PointlessUsername · 09/10/2017 17:12
