How much do you pay for pjs and how often do you replace them?

Recently realised that all my pjs were about ten years old with holes in. Decided to stop being a scruff and invest in some decent pjs, threw out all the old ones and ordered 4 new sets online.

Sat here now feeling guilty about spending so much money on pjs. How much would you pay for a decent set?

£25 maximum per pair maybe?

I really like some on asos at the moment, they’re £24 but that would be a treat for me!

I only have 2 at a time (blame KM!), so they don't last very long.maybe 2 years. I usually get a pyjamas from MIL for Christmas, and then I buy another online. I think £25 is reasonable, it's not something you buy that often, and you should have nice pyjamas ;) Sleep is important!

You can get absolutely fantastic pyjama sets in the supermarkets (currently loving these, at £20 a set), but I have paid £35 for a set from Hush before (and £15 each for 4 pairs of bottoms in the sales) which have lasted me about 4 years now.

I don't tend to bother with them from the likes of Primark. I know everyone raves about them but I find really cheap ones shrink upwards, widen outwards and bobble.

I like M&S and John Lewis flannel pyjamas, but have also found good quality pyjamas from Zalando own brand.

These were 40 down from 65. Then I used a discount code and got another tenner off the order.
Probably on the extravagant side but after finding yet another hole in my pjs something in my mind just switched and I had to get rid of the lot. On the same day I nearly bought some egyptian cotton bedding because i also have holes in my Ikea duvet cover. But decided to mull it over. Maybe I will think about it again in six months.
I'd had the same pjs that my mum bought me ten years ago from Primark as a christmas present.
One of the hardest things after being skint for a long time is when you finally do get money knowing what to spend it on without feeling guilty.
Could be a lot worse I guess. I am not spending money on the booze or fags anymore (almost a year smoke free) so I guess I earned the pjs.

Not much but I don't sleep in them anyway. They are a loungewear thing. I'd love drawers full of matching, flattering, chic pj's/loungewear but cannot bring myself to fork out for it.

DuckOff I will let you know whether it's worth it once they arrive! Whether I feel like an absolute superstar or a dirty sinner.

@Neoflex, I know what you mean about spending money and feeling guilty! After much research and several returns, I finally have found peace with a pair of perfect jeans from Zalando own range for £20 ;) I don't think I would have been able to wear expensive jeans without thinking how much food I could have bought with that money ;)

Primark cotton jersey pyjamas are lovely and a set costs under £10. I normally have 4/5 pairs on the go at once as I wear them in the evenings when I often do some yoga/Pilates so they need washing very frequently.

I live in asos legging pjs, mega comfy and about £18. Or primark Harry Potter ones sexy they are not

I buy separates

Uniqlo lounge pants which are about £20

And then H&M cotton short and long sleeved plain white t shirts

I like mix and match so don't buy PJ sets because I like to have a ratio of a few tops to each pair of bottoms

Neoflex where did you order your pjs from. I need a new set.

You totally deserve them and you have done great to get the discount and dont feel guilty at all - you spend several hours in them daily

I like Sainsbury's sets which are £10 and have 3/4 length bottoms* and short sleeve tops. I buy these on their 25% off days, so £7.50 for the set.

For winter this year, I've bought some M&S cuffed bottoms* with a long sleeve top for £25.

• I'm short, so most bottoms are too long.

I also really rate the sainsburys ones.
I’ve tried other supermarkets and they’re not as good. I’d pay more but I don’t see then need when those are so good!

I don't sleep in mine but tend to buy decent bottoms from M&S which they call "lounge pants" and wear them with jumpers or hoodies at this time of year. I am currently wearing some very fetching velour trews.

New pyjamas are the best! Enjoy them OP you deserve a treat.

I've just bought new cotton ones which are shorts with a long sleeve top. £20. I buy new ones a few times a year but I've still got some old favourites I can't bear to part with. Don't think I've ever gone beyond the £30 mark but yes I totally would for the right ones

I buy cheap and cheerful, I spend up to £10. I don’t like forking out too much because it’s not a huge necessity for me- I have a 2 pairs and some joggers, I sleep naked because I don’t like feeling restricted. X

I've lots of PJs - usually around £15 a go. I have about 8 sets. Makes sense. One per night so...

I've treated myself today to these from Next and these from Asda. Both really soft, hoping they are comfy!

They arrived just in time for me to come down with a cold. So I've been sleeping in them all day. Feel so ill but also loving the pjs.

They are extremely comfy, warm, and I feel I can wear them around the house without flashing husband's friends. Nothing popping out. The bottoms are like good quality house pants. Quite a sporty fit. A bit like barney stinsons sleep suit.

Anyway I don't regret it and now I am doing a big clear out and threw out other holey items such as socks & tights, white bras that turned grey, gloves that don't match.

It all feels so good!

Fleece jobbies from ALDI cost £8. I have six pairs.

Not very flattering but they wash and wash and dry very quickly.

My PJs tend to get a bit manky as I live in them so replace fairly often.
