What do we think to this dress?

After many years of thinking I was too fat/short/odd shaped I have finally started to realise I can wear dresses.

I have bought this dress as its in the sale. It's for a christening that's not going to be a posh do so I hope it fits the bill. I'm 5'3, size 14 with a big old belly, I'm planning on wearing it with black tights and heeled ankle boots.

Do we like?

Lovely. I would wear that with thick tights and boots too.

tehmina23 · 03/10/2017 20:16

Yes.

Veronicat · 03/10/2017 20:17

Absolutely!

Tartyflette · 03/10/2017 20:20

Depends on your legs. It wouldn't suit me (fat knees) so I prefer a slightly longer length.
But suck it and see, as the saying goes.

Orchidflower1 · 03/10/2017 20:26

Very nice. Looks like it could be dressed up/ down. Great it's in the sale too !

mintich · 03/10/2017 20:28

I have the same dress but different colour scheme and I wore it to a christening. It looked really nice!

MusicToMyEars800 · 03/10/2017 20:29

I really like it Smile I would also pair it with thick black tights and boots.

carolhere · 03/10/2017 20:30

Really nice one. I would also wear tights and wear it over.

NigellasGuest · 03/10/2017 20:41

Really depends on the fabric tbh

imjessie · 03/10/2017 20:44

If you are an apple with great legs I think it will be fine .

OlafLovesAnna · 03/10/2017 20:58

Love it, I'm an apple with good legs so I'm interested in where it's from.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 03/10/2017 21:03

My legs aren't the best, I have wide calves.

I think the dress looks ok on but I've always been so focussed on my big belly that I forget to check how everything else looks so long as my belly looks ok.

I'll take a photo tomorrow so I can get everyone's opinion, I'd do it now but I'm in my pjs Grin

OlafLovesAnna it's a Little Mistress dress from Very/Littlewoods. They've got it in a pink colour too.

I think minidresses always look great in short people. If you think you'vyou've got big calves they are probably just shapely. Do you have tiny ankles?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/10/2017 23:26

Gorgeous

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/10/2017 23:28

Oh no, that would hang on me like a shapeless sack, I'm too thin and short for that.

3wayburger · 03/10/2017 23:35

Have you got a link op?
I would love this dress

BackforGood · 03/10/2017 23:49

Hmm. Sorry to go against the flow, but it looks like a 'top' to me, not a dress. Not just the length, but the shape of it.
I'm not keen. Sorry.

TheresSomebodyAtTheDoor · 04/10/2017 00:10

I saw a similar one today that I was thinking about asking opinions on from Shien but it's only £13 which is making me think the fabric must be awful.
I've also got big tummy and good legs so this shape is most flattering!

Love this one too...although I'd sew up the slit on chest.

WomblingThree · 04/10/2017 08:13

Shein is crap. What you get bears no resemblance to the pictures.

OP that dress is lovely, and ignore the comments about your calves. Honestly, people who are above a size 8 are allowed out in public in something other than a head to toe sack!

Ahh thanks for the heads up Wombling, I'll avoid those dresses then!
