Save your money and spend £20 on a few products from The Ordinary.

Itsraininagain · 03/10/2017 19:37

Not sure it's marketed as anti aging but Marks Absolute Sleep cream is simply amazing stuff! And only around £22!

dramallamakarma · 03/10/2017 19:42

I use this, smells divine like a light lemony fragrance:

I've tried all sorts of more expensive creams but always end up back with this one.

The Ordinary

Hellywelly10 · 03/10/2017 19:51

Just got a nivea q10 creams with factor 30. Currently on offer for a fiver in super drug.

doubleshotespresso · 03/10/2017 19:52

Bombardier25966 what would you recommend for starters?

Mayhemmumma · 03/10/2017 19:53

I really like the absolute sleep cream too.

greentea4me · 03/10/2017 19:55

Skinceuticals c e ferulic.
Skinceuticals aox eye gel (the best ever).
You need a retinol as well.

gingerbreadmam · 03/10/2017 19:56

i love avon anew. dont know how good it is im early 30s but love the bloody smell.

fredabear · 03/10/2017 19:57

Aldi caviar

tehmina23 · 03/10/2017 19:59

I like Clinique Superdefense factor 20 day cream as it protects against pollution ( I live in a busy area with lots of traffic).
It feels really nice & absorbs well.
Unfortunately it's not cheap nearly £40.

pandarific · 03/10/2017 20:04

Oops, posted too soon! What I was going to say was it had better bloody well work. I've got sagging eyelids to deal with, a distinct lack of youthful 'glow' and lines under the eyes and forehead.

Thanks all for the suggestions. What from the ordinary do you rate for anti ageing?

Any particular retinol greentea?

Also - anything that goes ball-y under makeup or causes it to slide off is pretty much useless IMO. How do the ordinary serums fare in this regard?

I hear snail gel from Holland and Barrett. About ten pounds

pandarific · 03/10/2017 20:09

I've tried the holland and and barratt snail gel, and yes it's very lovely! Sinks in beautifully and hydrates really well - not sure of the longterm anti aging effects but a lovely moisturiser. Also smells of lemon! Grin

I would also agree with The Ordinary being worth a try. I particularly like the buffet serum, hylauronic (sp?) acid and the caffeine serum for under eye although you will need a more moisturising eye solution to alternate. I tried the retinol but wasn't too keen. I also like the squalane as a moisturising oil to use at night.

Acid toning is what really changed my skin texture and condition. I really like Pixi Glow tonic.

tehmina23 · 03/10/2017 20:21

I do wear serum under my moisturiser.
I use Clinique smart repair which is about £50.
I use a finger tip amount & it lasts ages. It does help your skin eg with dryness/ blemishes.

I wear primer plus bb cream over my moisturiser, have also worn foundation over it & none of it goes flaky, I've found with other brands of moisturiser that my make up goes flaky unfortunately.

tigerdog · 03/10/2017 20:31

I have no issue with TO and applying make up. I use their moisturiser too (the HA factors one) sometimes and that is also fine.

Fucky · 03/10/2017 20:45

I love decleor hydrafloral the rich one

Plus giving my face a good flannel scrub

greentea4me · 03/10/2017 21:32

If you want a retinol you will have to try the most mild retinol first and see how you get on, then build up to 1% if you can. You only need to put it on once a week. Again I would really recommend skinceuticals but they are pricey (aox eye gel is £50).

You will have to wear a sunscreen every day though as retinol causes extra sensitivity to sun. Japanese sunscreens are the best, I use Biore watery essence 50spf ++++ for every day.

QueenofallIsee · 03/10/2017 21:36

I like L’Occitane Divine, it’s fabulous

MikeUniformMike · 03/10/2017 23:23

Aldi Lacura. Someone help me with which one it is please. not caviar although i'd be happy to try it. 2 older women have told me they love it.
