I've ordered a shockingly expensive pair from Russell & Bromley and I do like the way they look but a) will they bag and collapse in weeks? and b) any suggestions for a cheaper version (that obvs will bag sooner)?

I love the way they look, but have resisted buying the amazing R&B ones solely because I suspect it’s a look i’ll get bored of within a season or two. But if you can afford it, please get them so I can live vicariously through you Grin

I like those pink ones actually. I am planning to get a similar pair in red.

Lalalandfill · 03/10/2017 11:04

Do you mean the kitten heel ones, Hopefully? I've got the ones with the gold heel (can't link right now) - they are more ££ than I have ever spent on shoes before so very much in two minds

I think they're ghastly, personally!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/10/2017 11:51

When I saw they were coming back into fashion I had a real "I'm too old for this shit" moment.
They make me think of when the knee length pull on boots with kitten heels were all the rage in the late 90s. Personally I think they make your feet look disproportionately massive so if you're over a size 4 they look odd.

And I haven't seen a pair yet that don't look cheap. To make them work they have to be made from Elastane-y material, which often looks shiny and tacky.
So if you hadn't already guessed, they're a no from me. Smile

TheLegendOfBeans · 03/10/2017 11:55

Sorry, I really hate them.

They put me in mind if stirrup leggings and high heels where the stirrup has been looped under the heel.

The dancer paired with Johnnie Peacock on Strictly wore some on the Last Leg on Friday. Hell, if they look ropey on her....

Sorry - they just stoke some fire of hate deep in my soul.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/10/2017 12:07

I'm not sure if they count because they aren't kitten heel and are leather (so a bit more stiff), but I have these and I absolutely love them!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/10/2017 12:42

Those aren't sock boots as you have said. These are the sort of things I'm talking about:

sock boots - what do we think?

Bought a pair last year from new look they where not fitted enough around my leg and ankle so I'm on the hunt for a nice pair this season. Shops are full of them.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/10/2017 12:52

Lady yes you're right. I like the fitted style but didn't want the elastane look, so went for the closest thing in leather. They're nice and fitted on the leg and ankle, so I'd recommend leather to anyone who thinks the stretchy ones are a bit too far trend wise!
