Yes! I've never thought of this. Yes definitely. Recommendations of where to look?!

Currently stalking Yoogi's closet right now. But I have never bought a designer bag. Thinking of buying preowned for my first, if ever.

I've just found a place called Handbag Closet which has actual shops as well as online. Oooh. Ooooh.

I bought my beloved Marc Jacobs work bag from Naughtipidgins. Shian who runs the site is excellent, and I have every confidence that the bags she sells are authentic, which is something you have to be aware of when buying online. Her site is the first place I look when I am thinking of buying a new bag, particularly if it's a bit £££.

I agree Pinot. I have bought far too many bags and purses from Shian at Naughtipidgins. Thankfully she has shortened the name to npn bags as I can never spell it! www.npnbags.co.uk She is a lovely, totally trustworthy lady to deal with and her detailed descriptions and photos of each item are very clear.

I've just bought a lovely vintage mulberry on eBay, and then had it authenticated by Authenticate4u for £5. The purse forum are also very good for verifying if a bag is genuine. Don't be scared of buying off eBay, long as you've paid by Paypal you're covered if it turns out to be fake.

Labels most wanted is excellent, I highly recommend
Vestaire collective be careful, I’ve definite seen fakes.

Dailystuck71 · 04/10/2017 18:53

I like mulberry so use the various Facebook pages that are really good.

BlackSwan79 · 04/10/2017 18:58

There are some groups on Facebook specifically for Mulberry. I have purchased 2 and am really happy with them, one still had tags and protectors on. The admin of the groups are extremely knowledgeable and can spot a fake.

I've bought from Vestiaire a few times, always good service and nice to be sure on the authenticity.

I have also used Authenticate4U from a private sale as I was buying a Chanel bag and wanted to be 100% I wasn't spending so much on a fake, I was pretty confident it was genuine from checking it against a friend's version and I was right. I got it for a steal (in comparison to usual prices for second hand Chanel bags I realise it was still a hell of a lot of money) as it didn't have dustbags cards etc.

I've got a few things off eBay too, including mulberry bags but it takes a lot of perseverance to find the bargains. I'm confident buying from brands I know and can generally spot a fake a mile off. My Chanel was so cheap because people want receipts/authenticity cards/dust bags etc but often the people who have enough high end stuff to sell on for a cheaper than average price don't take very good care of stuff like packaging because they see it all the time as they buy so much stuff, it's people who have had to save and wait for a special high end product save the packaging and treat it like something precious and care about the resale value. Plus having the packaging doesn't guarantee it's a genuine product as if they can fake a bag they can sure as hell fake a card/dust bag/receipt. Anyway off on a tangent, but there are real bargains to be had on eBay and you can always get your money back on PayPal.

I've used global Lux closet for 2 Chanel bags and will definitely use again. Very trustworthy and lovely selection.
