How much height would these shoes add?

Looking for some new boots. I'm just a bit conscious of the height they may add. I'm not insecure about my height or anything, I just usually wear flatter shoes.

I know heels height doesn't add directly to your own height so I'm curious if anyone knows how much height these will add. They're about an inch and a half. (4cm)

Surely they add whatever the heel height is?!

Why don't heels add directly to your own height?

I thought so too but a few people have told me that for example just because they're 1.5 inches, doesn't mean that they'll at that much height, which confused me??

They'll add the height of the heel!

I'm not trying to sound thick. I just read an article, which said that non platform heels actually only add 1/2 to 3/4 of the height of the heel, and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

But if you stand on your tiptoes at a height of 2 inches from the ground, you will be 2 inches taller. The same can be said of heels

Are you maybe thinking of the fact that a 4 inch heel doesn't mean you're stood on 4 inches all night as you have to take account of the height of the platform at the front. So for a night out, you might be just as comfy in 4 inch heels with a decent platform as 3 inch heels with none. You're still 4 inches higher though!!
