Soho Farmhouse

40th birthday drinks of a relatively new friend at Soho Farmhouse.
Please tell me what to wear as I don't know anyone else going to ask them and have never been there before.
Plus my interest in fashion is very limited so I would be bound to get it wrong.
I want to blend in rather than stand out.

I might be wrong. Isn't it the soho firehouse?

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 02/10/2017 16:45

That's the Chiltern Firehouse.
It's a members only club, it's a tricky one! Can you not ask your friend? It's supposed to be good!

Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds. Off to google Soho Firehouse now

Its very casual so wear what you like. Jeans are fine, I would probably go for a nice dress.

Avebury · 02/10/2017 16:47

Relatively new friend who is so effortlessly stylish I'd feel a bit stupid hence turning to the power of MN

Soho Firehouse isn't a place Grin

Avebury · 02/10/2017 16:52

Thank you. So a standard LBD would be fine you think?

Not dress. Less is more at Babington etc. And the idea is it's a (posh) farm. Jeans, heels, nice top. Enjoy - it looks amazing!

cordiality · 02/10/2017 16:53

You'll have a great time! There's a bit of a walk from the car park, so don't go too stiletto-y, or have a change of shoe with you. Skinny jeans and a lovely top will be fine. Or a cocktail type dress. It is relaxed, but you won't look out of place if you pop on a bit of lipstick. I always think the only thing that matters is you look in the mirror and think you look great. If you feel lovely, you'll look lovely. Have fun!

MrsEricBana · 02/10/2017 16:53

I really think LBD would be too much.

SinglePringle · 02/10/2017 16:54

It's relaxed 'luxe', so I tend to wear good jeans, silk t-shirts, cashmere etc with hi-tops / trainers. Evenings, similar but might wear silk trousers. There's a lot of Isabel Marant, The Kooples and Stella McCartney type clothing but it's a very chilled vibe.

A little black dress would look a tad overdone. Unless worn with ankle boots / trainers etc.

Avebury · 02/10/2017 16:55

So helpful - thanks ladies

I wore a dress this summer but it was not a "dressy" dress. Light colour tunic dress. Jeans and heels with a jacket or kimono top would work too.

mintich · 02/10/2017 16:57

If you look on the hashtag or location on instagram youll see what people wear

absolutehush · 02/10/2017 17:10

Have been to farmhouse/Babington etc a fair amount. You don't need to dress up at all! It's super casual, and if you go too dressy you might feel a little out of place.

I was there for dinner last night night - black jeans, jumper and boots with denim jacket. If you want to make an effort, a nice silky shirt with jeans and smart boots...

Oh and have fun! It's loooverly. Make sure you have a little explore!

Dontknowwhattodonowok · 02/10/2017 17:12

I’m a member and it’s really casual- in fact they encourage casual. If it’s cold I’d wear heeled boots and jeans with a gorgeous blouse, shirt or cashmere jumper!
