Black boots, too much to ask?

Help!

Looking for a pair of plain black leather, mid calf, flat or small heeled boots for work but it is proving impossible!
I don't do buckles/chains/clips but everything seems to have one or a combination of all on Sad
Also, I don't think I have particularly narrow feet or legs but most boots I am finding are wide fit and gape.

Any suggestions? I have had a quick look in Debenhams, Office, Schu, Clarks and New look with very little success......

& Other Stories? online has as lot more choice than inshore - lots of odd ones but often a very plain design. Cos? H&M Premium on their website? TKMaxx?

Jones the bootmaker will be worth a look.

Try Dune - I got some slouchy mid-calf boots from there and have a similar aversion to buckles, etc.

These are what I bought, and the Rosalind ones are also available in black.

Oh, and I have very average sized calves (short size 12) and these are a perfect fit.

The Holy Grail appears to be a plain black boot, add the fact that I would like a pointy boot into the mix and I will be still wearing flip flops at Christmas. Grin

Hahaha @Trouble, glad I'm not the only one! I have this same dilemma every winter and I refuse to spend another one with cold, wet feet!
Thanks for the other suggestions, will go and have a look online and see what inspiration I can find!

I'm having the same type of problem.
I've spent 1 week looking for knee high, black, rounded toe, decent soled, heel height 2" or less.
I've also got wide calves.
A lot of the wide calves boots are mainly elasticised panel which is ugly.
Or the wide calf boots are also wide foot width. My feet are standard width.
Or the heel is an ugly brick shape.
I found 2 pairs which were fine.......but sold out of size 6......
It's mission impossible I tell ya!

Have you looked at www.duoboots.com? You can choose your calf size. On first glance though maybe they're all a bit tall?

Mrsmumtobe · 02/10/2017 18:17

You sound like me Phoenix! Except I'm needing skinny calf.... such a bloody mission.
Chelsea boots gape at the ankle too much for my liking and leave a huge gap.
Decided slouch style are just not me.
Found a pair of Chelsea boots with low cut ankles that will do me for the time being till it gets properly cold!
