Boys Christening Outfit

My DS is getting christened in a couple of weeks and I'm struggling to find an outfit for him. He is 13mo but wearing 18-24mo clothes so obviously all the nice baby gowns are too small. I don't want anything too grown up, but some of the outfits I've seen are shiny sailor boy type monstrosities!!

Any ideas?

Should have said, I don't want anything that makes him look like a tiny little magician or the son of a Russian oligarch!

A smart (ish) shirt and some comfy chino type trousers. this one is nice.

I bought a really nice silk romper in a size 18-24 from john lewis. It wasn't shiny and he wore navy shoes. I also bought a white linen shirt and trousers combo with a knitted vest as a backup but preferred the romper in the end. Pale grey suit trousers and white shirt also seem popular choice?

Thanks everyone. I'd happily dress him up like Prince George but I think DH would object! Plus we are going to be in a cold church in North Wales, so I think he'd be better in trousers rather than shorts (and his legs are permanently covered in bruises from falling over all the time)

My boys wore beige linen shorts with a white linen shirt and shoes. DS2 had a little waistcoat to match his shorts.

You could get trousers, just in a pale colour, and white shirt.

Ok well this is trousers, not shorts and pair with a red or navy cardigan?
