Hi I go to ceroc - a type of dancing and am looking for some low heeled dancing shoes that I can wear with skirts/dresses. I do have thin soles and high arches. I need style but comfort. Thanks

IDS. You can choose different heel heights.

Aris Allen. They specialise in swing dance shoes I think.

Bloch. Look under ballroom and latin shoes like these uk.blochworld.com/ballroom-latin-shoes

Or character shoes, they come with lower heels.

They have a store in Covent Garden if you are in London.

Freed also has a store in Covent Garden www.freedoflondon.com/Default.aspx

I think it's much easier to get proper dance shoes rather than looking in high st shops for something that might work. I'd start by looking to see what local independent dance wear stores you have in your area. Hopefully you will find somewhere with a good adult shoe section and some different styles to try. Dance shoes aren't that much difference in price than normal shoes, and you would hopefully get a good selection of styles, colours, heel height etc. Dance shoes should have a flexible sole, a fastening to stay on your foot, are generally supportive and a slippy sole (eg suede bottomed) to make your spins and turns so much easier.

What type of shoes do the teachers wear.?
If it’s like rock and roll jive or samba then Latin shoes would be suitable.
They have flexible soles with a suede sole to give a bit of slip with a bit of slide.
I second international shoes - you can get a wide variety of widths and heel heights and heel styles. Also they do different shoe styles, straps and fastenings

I have very weak ankles so used to struggle with heels when dancing. I had a pair of these uk.blochworld.com/product/S0407L They were very comfortable.

Second proper dance shoes. You'll get proper fit, heel height and you can see different styles to see what suits. Bloch are very good in my experience. My tap shoes are from there, and I've got their dance trainers for Zumba.

Hi thanks all for your comments - I've taken them all on board and as I live in London I will be able to go into the shops recommended.
