I'm sorry. Another Breton thread.

Really sorry Blush

H&M ones don’t wash / last well enough.

I am between sizes in Joules and don’t find their fit very flattering anyway.

I need a long sleeve one which is also long in the body. I’m an apple shape so I cannot afford to be highlighting my tummy or hip area too much, therefore longer tops are my friend. Budget is not an issue for the right one.

Any ideas?

Boden?

Fatface?

Boden
Seasalt

GinsanityBeckons · 01/10/2017 20:53

I just bought a couple of seasalt ones. They’re thicker than Boden and have washed really well so far.

Laska5772 · 01/10/2017 20:53

Seasalt they are great and wash really well

Ollivander84 · 01/10/2017 20:54

Boden's are so thin - I was disappointed.

Me + Em are v nice if budget is no problem.

bitchpleaase · 01/10/2017 21:07

Thank you all for the replies so far. I’m off to Google them all. Flowers

Me + Em are half price. And out of stock. Dammit.

Well that seems very silly of Boden. It's their quintessential piece isn't it; you'd think they would make it very good quality.

IamImportantToo · 01/10/2017 21:11

Absolutely Seasalt. So much better than Boden

BestIsWest · 01/10/2017 21:13

Boden ARE thin, it's true but I like that plus they are quite long. Joules were too thick for me. Seasalt were a happy medium thickness wise but not long enough for me, though I have a couple.

FourEyesGood · 01/10/2017 21:16

A quick Seasalt warning: the quality is great, but the Bretons are no good if you've got a long body (I can only wear mine with my high-waisted skirts).

Jcrew

ktjb39 · 01/10/2017 21:29

Gap have some lovely thick full long sleeve ones - little bit short but i find that with lots of tops (long body, short legs 🙄)

Lucked · 01/10/2017 21:31

I am an apple, my best are my gap and boden ones where I have sized up, not particularly thick but a nice length, hang well and wash well.

PNGirl · 01/10/2017 22:44

I'm considering buying this men's one from Uniqlo to get the length.

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/men-washed-striped-crew-neck-long-sleeve-t-shirt-400324.html

I'm only 5ft3 so I don't understand why most of them stop right on the belly where I'm widest!

Ouch44 · 02/10/2017 09:36

The Fat Face one. I have just opened my laptop to buy it in another colour because it is so good! Really thick material that somehow flatters my fat tummy! I wore it 3 days in a row as I loved it so much!

Witsender · 02/10/2017 10:13

My Uniqlo one has lasted for years.

redexpat · 02/10/2017 10:16

I just got one from Gap.

squoosh · 02/10/2017 11:32

My only remaining Breton is from Uniqlo. 100% cotton, quite thick and heavy rather than t-shirty. Washes well and feels like it cost a lot more than £12

bitchpleaase · 02/10/2017 12:14

There is an oversized Breton tee on the Boden website which I like. I can’t seem to find a white / navy stripe one though?

Thank you for all the suggestions; I am looking at them all Flowers

Yes they are, their quality has really gone down.

I have a lovely thick Breton top from Boden that I bought years ago which is still going strong. It has buttons on the shoulder. Wish I'd bought another one at the time now.
