Outfit for winter wedding

LoniceraJaponica · 01/10/2017 20:12

An invitation arrived today for a winter wedding. I don't get invited to many weddings and don't have any really smart clothes any more.

I am 58, 5'7" with short dark hair, size10/12 and pear shaped. I suit winter colours.

Any suggestions oh wise ones.

I don't clothes shop online as it doesn't work for me, so please don't suggest online outlets. My go to city for clothes shopping is Sheffield BTW.

What sort of style are you after? Budget? How about something like this? I suspect the colour is stunning IRL. There's a Reiss at Medowhall, I think.

MrsLettuce · 01/10/2017 20:32

Hobbs (also Medowhall) burgundy? Love this but it's even pricier and the colour wouldn't suit everyone.

LoniceraJaponica · 01/10/2017 20:37

I like the first Hobbs dress. Unfortunately yellow doesn't suit me at all.

I have no boobs Sad so anything low cut is a no as well.

It's a shame that the yellow one only come in the one colour, it's a nicer shape than their burgundy one. The deep teal/blue Reiss one is almost certainly worth a try, if you're going past anyway.

LoniceraJaponica · 01/10/2017 20:44

I will certainly give it a try, but I think I may be a little too hippy (as in wide hips) for it.

You both have the general idea of what I want as I hate being cold, and a long sleeve dress ticks the right box.

House of Fraser is worth a look. this is black but not plain black. Probably to eveningy.
similar colour to the Reiss one, maybe a better shape? Also comes in a deep burgundy.

Great ideas. Keep them coming. I never very rarely get invited to formal functions so don't really want to spend more than £100 on a dress that I might never wear again.
