Non pencil work skirt

I want a plain black skirt for work. I don't suit pencil skirts (tummy/csection issues). I'm short and don't wear heels.

In my head I have a kind of preppy, shortish skirt with shirt/jumper type of look. Black tights and boots.

1, am I stuck in the 90s again?

2, there are lots of lovely cord skirts around but I suspect this is too casual for my smart/casual office. I am senior management so need to be the smarter end of this.

3, what skirts do people wear to work if not pencil skirts?

What about something like this? It’s a lovely, weighty fabric and hangs beautifully.

On the Outlet part of the site, there’s a shorter, flippy black skirt and a longer midi - both lovely.

I haven't bought this though had it in my basket but it looks like the sort of thing you are after.

I've got a few A Line skirts that I wear with crew neck jumpers, tights and boots. I work in a smart-smart environment, so normally have a blazer/jacket over the top.

Warehouse have got 20% off with student discount (go onto Instagram and the hashtag #nuscard for people's discount numbers).

here although faux leather may be too casual.
