Tight long suede boots; stretch or return?

Got a gorgeous pair of blue suede boots yesterday, they're just what I've been looking for, but my bloody calves are too fat for them. Has anyone successfully stretched long boots or should I just get my £70 back?

How tight is tight? Can you do them up? If so I'd say keep them because suede will stretch (if it's proper leather, not faux suede).
If you can't do them up, then return them.

I can't do them up. But they are real suede! Is it worth getting a suede stretching spray and boot stretchers? But I've never tried it and don't want to ruin them: has anyone done that with success?

You can buy leather softening spray, I have ordered some for some boots I bought that are difficult to zip up, it should arrive tomorrow if amazon delivers when they say they will, I shall let you know if it works. I am chunky of calf and have so much trouble finding boots that fit so I share your pain OP

I'd try a shoe repairers and get them to do the stretching.

If you can't do it up, I'd say send back. If you could buy it felt a bit tight as you walked, I'd try the stretcher.

Where did you get them? Sorry to miss the point but I am slim of calf and would love a pair of tight fitting suede boots!

user21 · 01/10/2017 17:39

I would be concerned the zip would break

They were from TK Maxx but the brand is Stylesnob, Copenhagen. They're just so beautiful - sob - damn you my fat calves!
