Wedding outfit for 8 yr old dress refuser?

Does anyone have any suggestions for an 8 year old girl who absolutely refuses to wear dresses or skirts?

She fancies a jumpsuit but I can't find any smart enough for a wedding - it's just dress after dress on most sites. It's a close relative and a very posh wedding so I'm getting quite anxious about it!

Any ideas very gratefully received

Put her in a suit. She look amazingly cute. How old is she? How long is her hair?

FieryWill · 30/09/2017 19:15

She is 8, longish blonde hair.

8, sorry. Yep. Three piece suit. She can pick out a tie or a dickie bow that fits in with wedding colours. Slick her hair back and tie it up if needs be. Will she allow a flowery clip?

Ted baker in Debenhams usually do lovely jumpsuits with a pretty pair of sparkly pumps 💕

hungrytillater · 30/09/2017 19:16

Suit idea is great, or a flowery type jumpsuit smartened up with a blazer and sparkly shoes?

Bobbins43 · 30/09/2017 19:17

This sort of thing

Yes, she will do all kinds of flowery clips etc, just no skirts!!

A suit sounds lovely, will have a look now. Thanks so much!

I love suits on women. I think it’s a great look. Plus comfortable and POCKETS. Win win.

I like that jumpsuit. Just wondering about getting a jacket over it as it'll likely be quite cold on the day.

Very grateful to you all.

The Ted Baker and the Zara have had the seal of approval, so I'm ordering them now, and will have a look at suits too.

Thanks againSmile

Next have suits in children's sizes. Match with trainers/baseball boots.

gingerbreadmam · 30/09/2017 19:46

Thank you all SmileFlowers

I'm quite surprised that there aren't many options for occasion wear for girls that aren't dresses.

I'm going to order a suit from Next too, to see how that looks - don't think I can get away with trainers for her, although it would look very cool and she would love it, due to the poshness of the wedding. Happy to be corrected on that though!

places like river island and next should do embelished type trainers /skate shoes. i think they would be perfect for a little girl who doesnt like dresses etc.

RandomMess · 30/09/2017 21:43

You could to funky van type shoes or Lelli Kelly's?

BradleyPooper · 01/10/2017 01:38

My dd wore a gorgeous tunic from Monsoon and leggings with ballerina shoes to a wedding at that age - refuses to wear dresses too...
