If so why and do they help you? Also where do you get yours from? Thanks.

I put 15 year old DD on them 6 months ago as we were finding her PMT very trying. To keep her company and encourage her to take them regularly I started taking them too (I'm 51)

There has been a noticeable improvement in DD's mood and her breasts are not as sore pre menstrually. I don't care if this is just the placebo effect, life is much calmer in the slug household.

The one drawback is that I am late to the menopause and the first symptoms had just started to appear when I took up the evening primrose. The damn periods are back regular as clockwork!

I take it for pmt after reading about it on a thread on here. I no longer have the extreme self loathing I used to and I'm less easily angered. It's brilliant stuff.

I buy mine from aldi or boots if aldi has no stock.

CakeNinja · 29/09/2017 22:29

I buy mine with my shopping - think they're probably available from all pharmacies and health food shops etc.
They have helped massively with my mood swings, have PCOS and so it's not always apparent why I turn into an ogre as I don't often have the accompanying periods, but I've never looked back since I started taking them about 3 years ago.

I buy online from Healthspan and they are heaper than the high street. Vegetarian capsules (non gelatine).

Taken for breast pain.

Crabbo · 29/09/2017 22:53

I took them for a little while when I was about 24 to see if they'd help hormonal acne - they stopped my periods!

Summerdiamond · 29/09/2017 22:57

I take them to help with awful sore breasts, help a lot. I buy in supermarket usually

PeasAndHarmony · 29/09/2017 22:57

I take evening primrose oil, menopace and vitamin E supplements and it's really helped with my PMT and peri menopausal symptoms.

mocha78 · 29/09/2017 23:06

They've pretty much stopped the horrible griping ovulation pain I was experiencing, been taking for about 18 months now. I think my skin is a bit more glowy looking too but that could be my imagination! I get the Boots 500mg capsules and take 2 a day as the 1000mg capsules are way too large for me to swallow, I struggle swallowing pills (all psychological I know as my husband keeps telling me!)

littlebillie · 29/09/2017 23:13

Are they safe for teens?

Littlebatcalledlucille · 29/09/2017 23:15

I used them for my eldest she had terrible eczema, (I took them for my period which worked) I'd burst a little capsule and rub the oil on affected area, and I Swear they really worked

Stansmith01 · 29/09/2017 23:17

I took them for eczema (heard good reviews online) but unfortunately they had little to no effect

BumWad · 29/09/2017 23:17

I buy the starflower oil ones from Boots (higher GLA). They have definitely helped with my PMT

Kipi · 29/09/2017 23:27

I used it when coming off the contraceptive injection. Usually they say fertility returns anything up to 12 months after so I took it on the advice that it can jerk your hormones back into alignment.... and I was pregnant four months later. (Intentionally!)

Thanks everyone! I've bought some from holland and barratt but think I'll get boots or supermarket ones next.
