I absolutely love the Collection hair highlighter in the fat stick. It's a really flattering champagne shade on a lot of skin tones and there are no big chunks of glitter looking at you NYX Angry---- I have a few more expensive ones and this is the cheapest and by far my favourite

ParadiseLaundry · 29/09/2017 18:17

Whoops, it's not hair highlighter Grin it's for your face!

Lottapianos · 29/09/2017 18:18

What type of skin do you have OP?

seefeld · 29/09/2017 18:20

I haven't done the maths but might a compact like this MAC one with blusher, highlighter and eyeshadow be a bit cheaper than buying separate products from Boots? You could decant some foundation into a little pot and keep that at work, same for the primer. Then you only need a cheap mascara and a brush.

That Dermacol foundation that's supposed to be the best coverage in the world or something ( says youtube beauty folk) It cost me £7, covers everything and leaves me all glowy. People have actually asked me what make up I'm using.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/09/2017 18:28

The women on the make up counters at Boots usually give free samples if you ask nicely [cheapskate] You could keep those at work?

I'm intrigued to know why you need to re apply all your make up at work.
Are you a flight attendant?

The MUA brand at superdrug have amazing blushers for £1, really good highlighter and bronzers for £2-3.

Primark is surprisingly good quality.

redfragglebiker · 29/09/2017 19:43

Primer - Wilko do one in a pink tube for about 3quid and it's ace. Rivals some of the pricey ones I've had for sure. Think it's by kiss(?) and is called something like prime of your life.

Hunkle · 29/09/2017 19:45

Also Superdrug M.U.A (Make Up Academy) is not tested on animals.

Someone on here said Wilko Eyebrow kit £2 is amazing.

soloula · 29/09/2017 19:50

A second vote for dermacol. I've also started using the Australian face clay, sand and sky. Not cheap BUT I've found it's made a huge difference to my complexion so I'm no longer needing to use umpteen other pore minimising products. Technics eyeshadow palettes on amazon are brilliant and less than £2.

TheLegendOfBeans · 29/09/2017 19:54

Thanks to THIS BOARD I discovered the best mascara and also light moussey foundation this week;

The essence range at Wilko. The mascara in question is a purple tube with a black embossed lid and is £3. The mousse foundation is £4.50.

For budget blusher that won't make you look like a panto dame may I actually point you in the direction of Collection's "matte lip crayons"; yes it's for lips but a couple of dots on the cheeks well rubbed in lasts for hours.

Finally, Barry M highlighter stick for a spot of uplifting shimmer.

I find NYX products to be a good, cheap alternative to MAC

seefeld · 29/09/2017 20:50
