Brazilians !!

Ok.. so I go on holiday in 4 weeks time for 2 weeks. It's 2 back to back cruises so 90% of the time will be spent in a bikini and by the pool (sipping pina coladas all day and I can't freakin wait! Grin

I have booked in for my first ever waxing experience down there and really don't know what to expect. I have/still do shave all off anyway but I want something that will last longer and without making me look like a plucked chicken by day 3 caused by having to shave almost every night. The girl at the salon told me their version of Brazilian isn't absolutely everything off, but just a small landing strip left and all the way round/underneath waxing, but meaning no butt cheek spreading thank goodness! Is this true?

Does it work well? If it is horrendous then is it worth it?!

Thanks all Blush

Yes, that's what a Brazilian is, OP.
I have just been this morning for my regular Hollywood ( everything off); it does hurt a bit, but it's only momentary and it's worth it.
I have had just a Brazilian in the past, and that doesn't hurt much, as sensitive areas are not waxed.

I'd just have the whole lot off and be done with it! The crucial question is - is she using hot or cold wax? You want hot (or warm) wax, the type that peels off without using cloth strips. This costs more but is well worth it. If you don't want your perineum done or wherever you want them to stop then just tell them, you don't need to request a specific style. The Brazilian I had in the past was exactly the same as the Hollywoods I have got ever since except for the little tuft which looks a little odd in my opinion, like a soul patch or a weird little moustache! Have a great holiday.

Thank you! Yes it's hot wax I am going for. Actually quite excited for the results Blush

Have you never waxed at all in the bikini line area? If so it's might be worth getting it done now to see how your skin reacts and then, all being well, having it done again before you leave. I've had a bad reaction a couple of times where the skin in the fold between the leg and the body has got damaged and been red and shiny for a couple of weeks. Both times I've been grateful that it wasn't just before a holiday and I've changed waxers. Apparently this can happen because the wax is a little too hot or just if you have very sensitive skin.

If you've never had a wax before I'd recommend taking a couple of painkillers 1 hour before your appointment time. Whatever you normally take- paracetamol, ibuprofen etc. It'll take the edge off Grin

Also don't forget to stop shaving a good few days before the waxing appointment, otherwise the wax will have nothing to cling to & won't work!
