Saw this mentioned on another thread and have been researching it. Review are bloody good so I’m thinking of investing.

If you have one of these, would you mind telling me what your skin tone is and which shade you went for? I’m quite fair and even toned I guess.

Thanks

I have it in Diffused Light. Quite honestly, I haven’t used it much as it’s pretty shimmery and more of a highlighter in my opinion. I’m 39 with decent skin but I found that it accentuates fine lines, even ones I didn’t know I had! I was really disappointed! On the other hand, I love their blushers and use them every day - they’re definitely good value for money.

Oh really? Thank you for that - interesting to know. I had wondered how ‘highlighty’ they’d be.

I am very fair and I was disappointed with mine, I felt it accentuated flaws!

I think you're using too much if it accentuates flaws. It's used a bit like a highlighter. Luminous light or diffused light should be light enough of your complexion. I think it's great and have multiple colours.

I am torn. So I’ve ordered it Grin Went for Ethereal. Will report back.

I love it. I use a very small amount on a large powder brush and just lightly apply over high points of cheeks, forehead and down nose. It is a highlighter but does also 'blur'. But use sparingly!

Housewife2010 · 30/09/2017 18:33

I love it. I am not an obvious highlighter person and I use it daily on my 40 something, dry NC20 skin. I have a full size Diffused Light which I have hit pan on after 2 years use. I would repurchase. I also have the Lighting Palette and sometimes use the Dim Light in it instead of the Diffused. The original Blush Palette which was a limited edition is great too. Some are sparkly but the Diffused is a everyday one for my skin tone. It is far better quality than my Chanel Les Beiges powder which developed a greasy film on top despite me using it the same way as the Hourglass (with a large Mac brush which is washed weekly).

Didn't work for me at all, too pale. Space NK agreed and gave me a refund!

Plumpysoft · 01/10/2017 10:04

Mine is Ethereal. Maybe I will give it another go and try using a bit less!

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 01/10/2017 11:07

I use Ethereal Light as my face powder. I'm cool-toned and fair.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 01/10/2017 11:08

I tried Diffused in the store and it's not much different from the Ethereal Light.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 01/10/2017 12:01

I'm quite fair and I use diffused light. I really love it, don't find it too much like a highlighter at all. I whack it on all over my face! Great product. Recently bought the beauty pie version (called one powder wonder, I think) and it's not a patch on the hourglass one.

Peppermeant · 01/10/2017 12:52

Diffused light. A makeup artist applied and then I purchased. Always looks greasy in photos (even when she applied).

clausthefish · 02/10/2017 08:10

Quick update. It arrived yesterday. I’ve put it on this morning and I’m really pleased. I applied it using a small brush, over the top of Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. The powder doesn’t look greasy at all. Went on well and I have a lovely glow. Will see how it lasts through the day.

Thanks again for all the replies.
