Silly question - how do you wear Spanx?

I have given in to the middle-aged spread and bought my first pair of shorts-style Spanx. But there are no instructions on how to wear them! Do you put them on over knickers? Do they go over or under tights? Sorry for daft questions

Over knickers and under tights if I'm wearing them here, gives a bit more cover up if you dress rides up

Seriously though, I have always worn that sort of thing as knickers. I have never tried to wear them with tights - I buy the control tights if I need a bit of support.

I wear them over knickers, I find they are really uncomfortable to wear as knickers as the fabric isn't soft as knickers would be. I have some Spanx type things from m&s and whilst they hold me in like a bloody corset, they are a bit scratchy without knickers

I wear pants underneath as they aren't very comfy. If you wear them over tights, you can easily take them off if they get a bit much after a couple of hours. I'd do that the first time you wear them so you know if you are able to hack it for a whole day/night out!

I buy the thong ones and just wear them as underwear

I get Spanx tights. To wear over pants. Solves the problem nicely.

I love my Spanx and really appreciated the article I read by Karen Brady that you should buy a pair a size bigger than you are! Apparently her mother gave her that tip. Before reading this I had struggled to get them on and dreaded a loo trip!

I always wear them over knickers but find 3 layers too hot so hold ups for me!
