Grey on dark brown....

Hey.
Struggling with how to deal with the grey 'sprinkles' (yeah sure. The grey hair!!)
Which feels like it's getting more but I'm not sure!!
Anyhow. I'm 38 now. Had grey since about 21. And have always just home died. Apart from the odd hairdresser stints.
Anyhow. I'm in a hairdresser dying stage now. Go to them about every 6 weeks.
My hair is naturally dark brown and I think it might look best that way.
I mentioned a few visits ago that the grey seems to come through faster and now they are looking at adding highlights and gradually going blonder to cover the grow through. I'm not sure it works though ....
any experience of doing this. Should I just stick with the shades of dark brown I am so used to.
I jut don't want some weird multi coloured hair going on!!

I'm in the same situation, age 39. My grey comes through more noticeably at week 4, I go to the salon every 6 weeks and have alternate roots/full head. I did go full blonde at one point and that was great at hiding grey Grin but also required frequent root touch ups.

Oooh. How full blond did u go. What sort of colour. I'm tempted too but want it to be full or not an orangey brown which I seek to see a lot! How often did u have to go for touch up?
I find 4 weeks is about my limit before grey shows thru. And use 'touch of gray' which helps between visits.

I have the same issue. I haven't had it dyed for 6 months to see how grey it actually is, and its annoying as I'm silver in some places but two tone (grey and brown) in others, which means I need to decide what to do next.

I've had the highlight / lowlight blend discussion with my hairdresser but I have the fear about ending up with Geri Halliwell stripes circa 2001! Not sure I can go back to full dark brown dye as I need it done every 3-4 weeks professionally, as home dye just doesn't touch it these days.

I look like a low rent badger atm tho, so thats not really an option either!

I use professional hair dye at home. I know hairdressers get annoyed at this but I have been doing it since I was 15!
I am dark brown on top which I touch up every 4 weeks as greys come through so fast and also have an ombré done professionally so that my hair isn't boring and one colour.

Went full on blonde, involved bleach wash and then ashy blond all over. Salon did it so not sure of exact shades. I would recommend that new olaplex stuff if going blond now it sounds fab at keeping hair in good condition. still managed to wait 6 weeks between touch ups but the grey was less noticeable. Used that purple shampoo stuff to stop orangy colour.
