Faux leather leggings recommendations

Looking for an inexpensive comfy pair that don't bag and keep their shape. I don't want to spend tonnes as I'm not sure if I can really pull off the look. Want to wear them casual with a jumper and trainers.

I tried a pair on in next which seemed ok but not that comfortable. Any ideas?

Is the fact that there's no response indicative that this is a naff question. Maybe I should step away from the pvc!!!!

I thought I'd tentatively try these out by getting some cheap ones from eBay. I got some surplus stock New Look ones. I have to say I'm not convinced by them. If I stood completely still in them, they might be ok but I'm not sure I'd trust them not to split , make me really hot and just look a bit cheap.

I've decided coated/waxed skinny jeans might be the way forward. Someone on the recent real leather leggings thread recommended the H&M ones but they're sold out. I might go back to eBay. I think with their majority cotton mix they've got to be better than just wearing pure PU, right?

Anyway, sorry no actual recommendation but i reckon in the absence of splurging on real leather, the waxed/coated jeans will look and feel better.

Just bought the mint velvet ones - the faux leather leggings for £80, not the leather trousers for £300+ and they’re lovely.

Got a great pair in Tescos for £16! Plum, skinny and very cool... i even wore them to a Jesus and Mary Chain gig and got lots of comments!Smile

zippyswife · 28/09/2017 21:14

Thanks for the responses.

I don't suppose you could link the tescos ones?

I have a pair from M&S from last year - they were £30 (but got 20% off)

I'm a size 10/12 - but I have a pair in size 8 as size 10 was weirdly baggy. They are ok - but do slide down a bit. Not got baggy at all though and wash easily

Next ones are fab

If that doesn't work just search f &f trousers and filter colour purple! Happy wearing! Smile

And i only went in for bread and milk! X

Peppermeant · 29/09/2017 00:52

I searched for these before and ended up.with a pair of coated skinnies which were fab at the time but have gradually lost their coating and now just look black Hmm

Hopefully · 29/09/2017 05:24

I've just ordered these Spanx ones in burgundy (also available in black) which I have high hopes for. Hoping they will have a somewhat Spanx effect too.

Those Tesco ones look great!

imjessie · 29/09/2017 06:23

I love my coated jeans , in my opinion they are much more flattering . H and m are the best but they are in most of the shops at the mo .

imjessie · 29/09/2017 06:25

Tesco have those in black too, I bought them last year but found them a bit thin for my big bum . They would be fab on someone with a looser knitted jumper !

Temporaryanonymity · 29/09/2017 06:26

I got mine from Primark last year. They are brilliant.

ChinUpChestOut · 29/09/2017 10:02

I'm very late to the (faux) leather legging bandwagon. I've only just lost 2 stone, so it would not have been a good look with my previously ginormous thighs. But now I'm less pear-shaped, I really want to try these. I've bought a pair of coated skinnies from Massimo Dutti and I really like them - smarter than jeans, but still informal.

I cannot bring myself to spend £300+ on a pair of leather leggings but I'm happy to spend up to £50ish on faux leather, if they really fit well and don't bag. I've looked at the Mint Velvet ones and they're very legging - I don't want to wear something that looks like a shiny pair of tights. Ideally, they'd be a bit more substantial than that. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

SecretSleeper · 29/09/2017 10:35

hopefully please report back on the Spanx ones! Have looked at them before...

zippyswife · 29/09/2017 11:47

Just ordered the tescos ones in black. I went for regular length. Im 5 8" but I wanted a bit of a gap- want to wear them with trainers. Not sure if I'm actually to old for all this malarkey!

Spanx leggings report: AWESOME. Nice and holdy inny, very high waist so no muffin top. Don’t look like leather particularly, more like a cross between leather and suede, but they do look ace on. Will probably also order in the navy.

Hopefully · 01/10/2017 12:42

They also aren’t going to fool anyone that they are real. But I think they are good in their own right, if that makes sense.

zippyswife · 04/10/2017 11:34

Well the tescos ones at £16 are great I think. I’ll report back once I’ve washed them and worn them a bit more. But at the moment they look good and are very comfy.

@Hopefully - how did the sizing come up on the Spanx - I'm a 10 - should I get S or M do you think?

AnonymousTomato · 05/10/2017 20:59

Ive bought the Tesco ones but I’m not loving them. They seem to have lots o weird excess material. I bought a size 6 and 8 but neither really fit.

I’m going to try th Spanx ones. Any other recommendations?

myusernamewastaken · 05/10/2017 21:33

I tried the black Tesco ones on today.....I really wanted to love them but was just a bit meh, so put them back on the rail.
