Gulp.

Just bought these in wine.

Am I an idiot? Can I justify nearly £300 on a cost per wear basis???

Anyone Smile?
Not sure if I'm seeking justification, honesty or encouraging reviews 😁😁

I like them but would have paid £300 smackerooons for them. You should have waited until a reputable clothing chain copied them at a fraction of the price.

TeaAddict235 · 27/09/2017 21:17

wouldn't

TeaAddict235 · 27/09/2017 21:18

wouldn't

TealStar · 27/09/2017 21:19

Personally I would have waited until the sales! Please tell me you used a discount voucher Grin
Let us know how you get on - I've always wanted a pair of theirs in black.

missfliss · 27/09/2017 21:26

Yes I used the 15% off code in mumsnet so that's something.

To be honest whilst it is I agree a lot of money, as real leather leggings go they are on the cheaper end.

I wore my pleather ones a lot last year so I consider it an investment of sorts hopelessly justifies to self

They look amazing!! Are they flattering? Do they show up every bit of cellulite? Sorry to grill you!!

CountFosco · 27/09/2017 22:31

Gorgeous! I am eyeing up the Hush ones for similar but am concerned they'll look shit on a shortarse like me but The Fashion Lift looked good in hers

expatmigrant · 27/09/2017 23:08

I love them too...I'm 53...please tell me I can

Catinthecorner · 27/09/2017 23:31

I love them.

Expat you can

I’m trying faux ones this year. If I wear them lots I’ll ask for the real deal

MulhuddartDrive · 27/09/2017 23:39

I love them but I always worry that they will go saggy at then knees the way a long leather skirt did.

MorelloKisses · 28/09/2017 00:11

Mine aren't saggy

missfliss · 28/09/2017 06:30

I promise I'll let you know when they arrive how they are.

They have to be brilliant and around for many many years at that cost.

I honestly think they are a classic for all ages, fluffy jumpers, long tops, jackets, blouses, flats, heels, ankle boots all go - I think it's quite a pared down, luxurious look. Only outrageous rock chick ( also good) if paired with spike heels and tight tops.

I'm 5'6" size 12, mum Tim, slim hips and legs but not particularly lovely ankles ( bit tree trunky) so we will see I guess!

I think they are amazing. I've been really tempted to ask for a pair for Christmas in Navy but I'm just not sure they're my style.

Please post when you get them. I'd love to know what you think!

Hopefully · 28/09/2017 07:17

I've just tried and returned them. They were absolutely lovely, but the leather was a tiny fraction thicker than I wanted it to be, I didn't like the external darts (tricky with a smooth top over the top) and they were a bit big (size down!). Might re-order in a smaller size at some point if they don't sell out, as they are at the cheaper end of LLs, especially if you don't want black. Am so tempted by the Reiss ££££ ones though.

bananafish81 · 28/09/2017 07:58

I recently posted a thread about leather key, LOTS of ll enthusiasts

http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/3022081-best-leather-leggings

I ended up buying a very ££££ pair but they are beautiful and the leather is like butter

I wore the hell out of my faux leather ones, so on a cost per wear basis I'm hoping they'll be as good value as some of my other splurges (which though £££ are the best value items I own)

Enjoy!

I love the baukjen leather leggings. Have them in navy and dark brown. I dress them up or down. They don't sag at knees but do size down.

OldPony · 28/09/2017 10:28

I have them in black and I love them

missfliss · 28/09/2017 17:13

They are arriving tomorrow.. hope they are nice and dark ..
I've ordered a 12( I am a12/14)

RavingRoo · 28/09/2017 17:15

Why? Shock

missfliss · 29/09/2017 10:03

Roo do you mean why spend the money?

It's a good question and I promise I'm not cavalier about it.

I have historically spent a lot of money on tops, and really bottoms are the foundation of an outfit.

I've never found a pair of skinny jeans that I love, and I wear my boyfriend jeans to death.

I suit dresses and skirts but my lifestyle isn't that compatible with them.

I'm 40, with a slimmish but very mummy figure and I need clothes that make me feel good, are forgiving of my figure, but also that allow me to look authoritative and credible in my workplace.

I have pleather leggings which are quite good, but I want real leather now - and this is how much real leather trousers cost. A lot. It should do too when you consider what leather is.
