Dress for winter wedding

I’ll be attending a wedding at the end of November and would love to wear this dress I picked up for a steal in the sales recently as I was coveting it all summer when it was full price! But is it too summery? Could I winter-fy it with black heels and a black jacket? I’m tall, pale, and have long dark hair if that makes any differenceSmile

It looks like a breezy beach dress you throw on over your bikin. cute, but very summery and very casual. I'd find something else if it were me, just my opinion!

I disagree. I think with black accessories it will look lovely. How heavy is the material? It looks quite thick and are the panels see through or solid? They look solid/opaque so I think it would work.

I think bright colours in winter are cool and could look great but I'd worry about being cold even with a jacket or wrap/shawl thing.

It does look smarter in real life than in the picture, the material is reasonably heavy and thick, apart from the see through panels of course! If it were a summer wedding I’d have no doubts about wearing it but it’s mainly the bright colour that’s putting me off for November. I’m not sure a proper coat would even look right over it so good point about getting cold Confused

Oh the panels are see-through, I was thinking they were white and a bit "nautical" haha.
I think the colors fine , just pair it with dark colors obviously maybe a leather jacket or wrap sweater

I don't think you can really winter-fy it without it looking either harsh (the red and black combination) or underdressed and looking/being cold. If you've the budget for it, I think it would look better if you had another dress, but this time with sleeves!

What other colours look good on you?

hamsterfacee · 27/09/2017 17:05

Haha ahoy there! I’ll try it with my leather jacket and black heels but I’m afraid it may be back to the drawing board!

I have a couple of navy dresses I could wear so I’ll resort to one of them if required and save this one for the summer!

Thanks for your help all! Smile
