Is how I feel about myself! I'm 39, dreading the big 40, 5ft 9, big boobs, small legs size 16-18 at the moment, have had a difficult couple of years where style and weight haven't been a priority but drinking too much wine and eating too much has got me through it.

Things are on the up and I'm trying to find little things that don't cost a fortune that can do to make myself feel better about myself and not like i am a knackered Middle Aged woman on a down hill slope!

I'm doing well on cutting back the cake and wine and slowly losing weight but get very despondent quickly and just feel a bit of a mess.

Please help!

Cheap things to feel better:

Stick some fake tan on. You will immediately feel slimmer and more glamorous.

Start putting body lotion on after you shower.

Go on some long walks or short runs, with a walking or running buddy. Getting fresh air will make you feel better, give your skin a glow and encourage you to eat more healthily.

Get a make up lesson at a counter. I've found Bobbi Brown and Kiko to be fantastic for this sort of thing. You will look better, and gets you out of a make up rut.

More than anything, remember that you are only 39! Plenty of years of gorgeousness ahead of you. You are 5'9": size 16-18 isn't massive at your height, and you'll soon get to where you want to be, weight-wise, with a bit of effort. Whilst you're getting there, make a feature of your legs in skinny jeans and skirts. Over the knee boots look great if you are tall with long legs.

Good luck.

I too am 5' 9". Size 14 top, 16 bottom (small boobs!) I wear skinny jeans with long tops/short dresses. Most of my tops and dresses come from charity shops. Big labels - small prices!
