Bra fittings

So finally today I went and got measured. My baby is now 17 months and I'm still wearing maternity/nursing bras! I know- the shame! But that's how bad things are!!

Anyway after hearing bad things about m&s I went to Debenhams instead. They measured me as 32F.....wtf really??? My old m&s bras were 36C!!! I don't have big boobs though so I'm struggling to believe I'm an F cup!

Someone please tell me that Debenhams are more likely to be right that m&s? Should I get measured anywhere else? Or just buy bras from Debenhams now?

Please help this confused (very unstylish) mum!

Might be stating the obvious question here but do the bras there in that size seem to fit?! If so then bingo!

KatharinaRosalie · 26/09/2017 18:50

in 99% of cases, M&S is wrong

32F is not particularly big. Remember that your cup size goes up as your back size goes down, hence your apparent growth up front!

I would always go with a Debenhams measurement rather than M&S, but also keep in mind that you'll be different sizes in other brands and styles. I can be anything between a 30E/F/FF and a 32E/F!

It does seem to fit well. Quite tight but I guess that's just for me to get used to.
And the woman measuring me seemed very knowledgeable and explained stuff. Just a bit weird to think I'm a 32F. It does seem massive to me. But I get that it's not really massive.

Similar size here - always wore 38B or maybe 36C if feeling slim pre-baby, have just finished breastfeeding (3.5 years on!) and have measured myself as 32G. And bras that size fit. Like you, I've struggled to comprehend that size as it sounds so big, but I get that it's not really that big due to back size. BUT - I then got really confused again by reading that Katie Price is a 32GG - and no way are mine anything as big as hers? Is that just crap reporting (likely!)?

Glad it's not just me then happy!

I know what you mean re Katie Price. Almost as though 32F makes me a page 3 girl type size! Hah so far from it!

she is not. She's tiny in real life, more like 26-28

WowserBowser · 27/09/2017 06:47

I was going to say the same as Katharina
Katie Price is more likely to be a really small band.

I was a 30F before I had my baby. Need to remeasure. And I have smallish boobs. It's all relative.

I have no experience of Debenhams bra fitting skills, but I do know that M &S are hopeless. Their idea of a fitting is handing you a bra to try on without even looking at you.
I only go to an independent shop where they fit you properly by getting up close and personal, hands inside bra to adjust anatomy where necessary. Result is a fabulous fit,if a little pricy. Last time I was there I bought two bras and paid about £ 80 ish.
