Yep, definetly fake you can tell by the colour

BumWad · 25/09/2017 20:01

They’re orange

BackieJerkhart · 25/09/2017 20:04
Grin

Right, ok. Any recommendations for tans that arent orange but give good colour rather than just a bleh slight colour?

St Moriz mousse is the best fake tan I've used and I've tried nearly every one!

Ninjakittysmells · 25/09/2017 20:07

I want so badly to get on board with st moritz but I just can't get it to go on none streaky! I like vita liberta and fake bake for doing at home. If it's a proper special occasion, then I like the clarins one done in a salon.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 25/09/2017 20:11

I dunno could be sunbed or a spray tan

Maverick66 · 25/09/2017 20:12

Vita Liberata highly recommend it. Foolproof.

BackieJerkhart · 25/09/2017 20:14

Thanks stealing and ninja. Is the St moriz dark one very dark? Should I try the light one first?

Clarins drops. Goes in your normal moisturiser. It's fool proof and you can put more drops in if you want to go darker. I like it because it doesn't smell like biscuits Grin

If you want an even, deep, all over tan I'd recommend that you get a spray tan.

BackieJerkhart · 25/09/2017 21:27

I have never had a single spray tan that I've been satisfied with. They always end up gathering in my knuckles, leaving lines where my bra straps go even even though I don't wear a bra after getting them and one time the soles of my feet looked like I'd walked through shit!

Insterested in the drops! I've never heard of those. Thank you!

The clarins one isn't a spray tan, the therapist exfoliates you and then applies it as a massage - gives a totally foolproof finish, as agree spray tans can be hit and miss.

seefeld · 25/09/2017 21:46

I'm also a fan of the Clarins drops, easy to build the colour up and no streaks.

DarkDarkNight · 25/09/2017 23:08

Are the Clarins drops better than the gradual tan lotions then? Even they go wrong on me and build up unevenly.

esk1mo · 25/09/2017 23:11

i use medium St Moriz, i exfoliate before hand and apply a mix of cocoa butter and vaseline gel moisturizer stuff. it looks golden on me, not orange.

otherwise i think the instant Fake Bake stuff is really good. im allergic to alot of fake tans so usually have to stick to instant, but weirdly im not allergic to St Moriz

Glamorousglitter · 25/09/2017 23:13

Vita liberata- highly recomend. However ... I m quite pale and it suits my skin tone, I have found it takes a couple of layers to build up and it s on the pale (think this was the deep coloured one too!)

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 26/09/2017 01:13

The one in the pink hoodie looks like she's been on a sunbed. It's got that apricot glow.

ReggaetonLente · 26/09/2017 01:18

Bondi Sands ultra dark is, well, ultra dark. Will give you a deep colour, but olive, not orange.

MakeItStopNeville · 26/09/2017 01:40

I get on really well with st Tropez 1 hour bronzing mousse. I am quite pale and only leave it on for 50 minutes. The results are great!

Peppermeant · 26/09/2017 14:15

The best deep, even colour tans are spray tans done by someone who really knows what they are doing. They shouldn't be spraying your feet or hands with anything but the lightest touch and you should be given a fan or similar to dry so that there are no marks left by clothing. The at home lotions and mousses etc can't compete for colour depth in my experience. (Also - you need to walk on a towel afterwards to remove any excess from the soles of your feet!)

XiCi · 26/09/2017 15:13

If your Spray tans are leaving you with lines or a deeper colour around your knuckles then it's the practitioner at fault. I'm lucky I've found an excellent one who's a real perfectionist. I only get them for special occasions/pre holiday etc but they are so much better than any home self tanning products. Is there anyone you can get a recommendation from locally?

BackieJerkhart · 26/09/2017 15:19

I agree it's the practitioners fault but I live in a small town and there are only so many that do it and I'm not really willing to keep paying so much to find one who is fantastic. I've only really had them done when going to a special occasion celebration and it's given me a sickener of them when they've all turned out so bad and I look ridiculous in photos. I'm happier to pay less for a self application one that I can take my time over and experiement with myself to get it right.
