Denim skirt - yay or nay?

Not worn one for years but think I fancy one.

Heading to 40, hourglass with short legs. Was thinking knee length pencil or a-line. Not flarey or too fussy. Worn with thick tights and probably riding boots. Not sure about tops.

Alternatively, I like the idea of a plum coloured courdroy skirt. But are they are bit frumpy unless they are short?

Disclaimer: I may ignore all advice on be happy with my "uniqueness". 😁

I'm 5'1 and sz 14. I wear that kind of thing a lot - suits me much better than skinny jeans. I have very short courdroy one but wear that with leggings rather than thick tights. i also have a just above the best pencil den one but that looks a bit better with heeled boots

No skinnies anywhere here! I look awful in any type of fitted trousers. Makes it quite difficult to find bottoms!

5'3'' and size 12 so similar to you.

What do you wear on top?

And I've never known what to do with leggings? I bought some recently to put on under a dress at a summer festival when it got cold. I loved them! I had them on with ballet pumps (because that's what I was wearing and they looked a bit odd I thought?

I love my denim (and cord) minis.

I'm 5'3 and they're an A/W staple for me worn with tights/Docs and cropped jumpers.

I think that some longer denim skirts can look a bit frumpy though. Knee length in particular.
